I think it is a good thing to set up your treadmill. I started walking in the park last year in May 2009 after having my baby boy, I lost some pounds but I think the good thing about treadmill is you are seen immediately the calories your are burning and that motivates you a lot . First set up your treadmill and start walking 30 minutes a day and if you feel comfortable add more minutes. You can change your workout every day by doing treadmill one day and outside walk another day. The good thing is whenever you don't feel like walk outside, stay in and put on a nice music and start walking on your treadmill. The more you exercise the more calories you will burn. Good luck.

Hi Lyn. The more you walk the more you will miss it if you don't do it. It's addictive~!
I was walking 3-5 miles a day and over 100 miles a month, before I just hurt my foot. It will be maybe a week before I'm back up to speed. I only walk about 3 MPH. Sometimes a bit better. Depends on the day.
Using the tracker for your mileage when walking outside is great. The one on Spark People is easy to use and really gives an accurate mileage count.

Hello, I'm Lyn. Since the weather is getting better I want to walk outside more. I do the WATP dvd's and like them a lot but I need some variety! I have a treadmill but I have not used that in a while. I'll have to start up again, I hope you can keep me motivated to walk!!!! Have a great day everyone!!!
