Welcome to the team! That is the best way to look at this journey, in small increments. I tackle 5 lbs at a time personally (though my tracker shows my ultimate goal). I am working on 5lbs for the 4th time this year.

Huppy I am happy you found and joined SP. You will find a very supportive group. You have really set your goals up well. Small steps turn into large steps when we look back. I really hope that you are able to get your co-workers on board. Even if it is just two of you others may follow suit when the see the difference in your whole self. It is not just the outer body it is our soul.

I recently heard this saying except it was a elephant. The man giving the speach was the youngest person to climb Mt Everset. His dream started when he was 16 and 8 years later he accomplished his goal "One bite at a time".
It a wonderful motto for anything in life. How do we get fit? One step at a time. How do you save to buy a house? One $ at a time.
You have the right attitude. Thanks for the reminder.
There is that old joke about eating a hippopotamus one bite at a time. Well, that is how I have decided to tackle my weight loss.
I am a 50+ year old woman, wife, mother, teacher who has had a tough time getting motivated, in spite of the sincere concerned pleas of my family. But about a month ago, something "clicked" and I decided to set my goals up in 10 pound increments and focus on each 10 pound goal one at a time before moving on to the next. I am 2 pounds away from Goal #1. It is the first time in YEARS I have really felt that I would be successful at this. Today I took time and plotted out on the planner approximate dates for each goal (to be modified as time goes on). It really helped to give me short term goals as well as long term. I am really enjoying using SparkPeople and am working on getting a team together at my work to support one another. I welcome any advice anyone can share with a beginner.
