Happy belated Anniversary

I am 12 pounds lighter. My health has improved drastically in the last year thanks to a great team of physical therapists, dentist, and doctor (and me for doing the work).
I am married now, I am walking again, I have my first vegetable garden in 4 years.
I have returned to work. I am a yogini. I go to the gym.
I bought a size 29 pair of skinny jeans on Friday - that's cool!!
oh ya, I'm golfing too.

Goals for this year... find a bike I can ride, downhill ski, keep on keeping on at SP, pursue adopting some kids.

Thanks to everyone who contributes to this site: members, team leaders, staff... SparkPeople really is a gift that I don't take for granted.

I can't believe how much life has changed in the last year. I've lost 55lbs, cycle or walk everywhere, have taken up kayaking again and am training for a half marathon! I couldn't have done this without sparkpeople. So a massive thanks to everyone out there who's involved and well done to everyone for their progress!

Clcips and DOKEYOKEY you both have the right attitude and with that said you will accomplish your goals on way or the other..........
you both have persisted and not given up.......
continued on your lifestyle changes and made them work for you.......mistakes are only that and picking up and moving on is what life is all about.....you both seemed to have learned lessons many fail to understand and learn...........
so kudos to you both!!!
am so proud to be a small part of your journey.....
wishing you both all the best........blessings and hugs............lita

below are some great ideas to incorporate in your lives if you haven't already.......

A GREAT RECIPE FOR LIFE!

1. Take a 10-30 minute walk every day. And while you walk, smile. It is
the ultimate anti-depressant.

2. Sit in silence for at least 10 minutes each day. Talk to God (or a
friend) about what is going on in your life. Buy a lock if you have to.

3. When you wake up in the morning complete the following statement, 'My
purpose is to__________ today. I am thankful for______________'

4. Eat more foods that grow on trees and plants and eat less food that is
manufactured in plants.

5. Drink green tea and plenty of water. Eat blueberries,
wild Alaskan salmon, broccoli , almonds & walnuts.

6. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

7. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, energy vampires, Issues of
the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead invest
your energy in the positive present moment.

8. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like
a college kid with a maxed out charge card.

9. Life isn't fair, but it's still good.

10. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

11. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

12. You are not so important that you have to win every argument. Agree
to disagree.

13. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

14. Don't compare your life to others. You have no idea what
their journey is all about.

15. No one is in charge of your happiness except you.

16. Frame every so-called disaster with these words:
'In five years, will this really matter?'

17. Forgive everyone for everything.

18. What other people think of you is none of your business.

19. However good or bad a situation is, it will change.

20. Your job won't take care of you when you are sick.
Your friends will. Stay in touch!

21. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need.

22. Each night before you go to bed complete the following statements: I
am thankful for__________. Today I accomplished_________.

23. Remember that you are too blessed to be stressed.

24. When you are feeling down, start listing your many blessings. You'll
be smiling before you know it.

Thanks for the anniversary note. My goal was to reach 167, which I did...in fact, I dropped to 158. I have since bounced back up to 168 and am holding steady there. My goal at 167 was to be at the top of my BMI and I am there, more or less.

Having said that, I know that winter is a challenge for me, so I believe it would be smart of me to drop back down to the low 160s this summer in order to accommodate any winter weight gain.

Thanks for asking.
Kathleen

below are some words to ponder on........

24 Things to Always Remember. . .
and One Thing to Never Forget...

Your presence is a present to the world.
You're unique and one of a kind.
Your life can be what you want it to be.
Take the days just one at a time.

Count your blessings, not your troubles.
You'll make it through whatever comes along.
Within you are so many answers.
Understand, have courage, be strong.

Don't put limits on yourself.
So many dreams are waiting to be realized.
Decisions are too important to leave to chance.
Reach for your peak, your goal, and your prize.

Nothing wastes more energy than worrying.
The longer one carries a problem, the heavier it gets.
Don't take things too seriously.
Live a life of serenity, not a life of regrets.

Remember that a little love goes a long way.
Remember that a lot . . . goes forever.
Remember that friendship is a wise investment.
Life's treasures are people . . . together.

Realize that it's never too late.
Do ordinary things in an extraordinary way.
Have heath and hope and happiness.
Take the time to wish upon a star.

And don't ever forget . . .
For even a day . . .
How very special you are.

Haven't posted on this team in a while. I'm still struggling. I have good weeks and some bad. But I'm hanging in there. I will get there eventually. It just may take me a little longer. But SP does make it a little easier.

I thought i would start this thread, as member activity has been super low lately........... So I thought I'd throw this thread out there for people to answer as they have time or stop by. After all, we are all in this together we're coming up on our one year aniversary.............

emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

I can honestly say this has been the strangest year of my life and while it's not ending the way I had envisioned or hoped it would, I'm still here and I'm still working towards healthier lifestyle. Share your story of accomplishments, what you still need to work on or what goals you're presently working on for the future................. share the good the bad and the ugly........
Tell us your plan on how you are going to be a Success, and make 2010 shine for you!

Would like to take this time to say a big thank you to your other leader: GRANDMASAM aka Carol
thanks so much for all your hard work!!

together we can get through and reach success.....................
blessings and hugs.................lita
