welcome back.............NOT-LEASE-LISE
so nice to hear from you..........

today is all we have so let's start there

Persist

Sometimes what you think will work great, doesn't work at all. But that doesn't mean that nothing will work.

Sometimes you build your hopes up, only to be disappointed. But that doesn't mean that your hopes have lost their value.

On the contrary, your hopes and ideas have great value, even though they may expose you to great frustration. Though it may be over difficult and uneven terrain, they do push you forward.

Your ideas are still valid, your hopes are still justified, and your dreams are still alive. Pick yourself up, adjust your approach based on what you've learned, and make another attempt.

Feel the joy of knowing that you can persevere. Transform the power of the challenge into your own inner strength.

Grow your way forward, through the triumphs and the setbacks. Persist, and anything is within your reach.

-- Ralph Marston

“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Ok. I think I've got it now.

How's the moving coming along? Are you all settled in yet?

I have a question. I would like to have some quotes appear on my posts. I notice many people have some above their ticker. I went to edit sparkpage and scrolled down. There was a place to change or rearrange teams and then there was the ticker. I saw nothing about tags to go on posts. How do I make one of those appear?

Wow it feels great. I included a link in a post today. I don't know how great the install went but it is there. *sigh* It said that it wasn't recommended to put the backup on the C drive. Where do I put it?? I tried to watch the Leslie Sansone DVD but the media center didn't recognize a DVD in the computer. I've polished off a few books but absolutely no exercise.

try this........you need to go to the page you want to make a link and copy the http://www.???

Hit "Reply". Above the message box is ADD A LINK. After you have copied the address from the desired link, hit ADD A LINK and paste the address in there and hit ADD A LINK next to that posting box. The link will appear highlighted within your message after you hit POST MESSAGE.

hope this helps................blessings and hugs..........lita

I read a very sweet blog called "A Minute Read" on the 300+ Challenge team by DutchPearl. How would I include it as a link in my post or reply? I see the add a link when we type a reply. How would I know the address of a blog? Is there a format?

I only have myself to blame because I have not been losing weight. I am not exercising as I should nor have I measured myself.

I did attempt to get a buddy because I felt that would inspire me to do things properly, but unfortunately, I did not manage to get one.

Another problem I have noticed is that I am sitting on the computer when exercising should be done.

I must:

Exercise, weigh-in, measure myself and get a buddy.

The only plus I will say that I have been concentrating on eating properly; the right things and the correct amount. This said it has not been a complete waste of time.

Now I feel is the time to move on to the "I must" section. Would anyone out there like to be my buddy?

Helen

Take Care.

So many great blogs and motivational pictures!! I've been browsing through the blogs on different teams. I found one that is soooo encouraging. Then the blog had a picture I had to research. JerseyGirl1950 posted in A Better Me. "In a funk?" Great blog, good ideas for breaking out of a rut. But then when I looked at the page, WOW! Her inspiration is a 72 year old woman named Ernestine Shephard. This woman is a trainer helping women and they work out in a church. One of the churches in my area opened a gym. I'm not ready for a gym yet, but I sure am itchy to do more walking. Let me know what you thought of it. Great read. I went to booty-bootcamp.com/blog/71-year-old-trainer-a-true-inspiration/ Enjoy and have a great year. ;P

from time to time i get a little complacent and forget to measure etc.............you guessed it...........it doesn't work that way........so i try to measure as often as is possible especially when at home...........
i guess we are always learning only sometimes we don't always hear what is being said........it does eventually sink in.....the important thing is that you have figured it out way to go!!! ..........best of luck to you.........blessings and hugs.............lita

My WW meeting was interesting. How come we can hear the same thing 10 times and it doesn't register until the 11th? The idea was to have 1/2 of your meal consist of vegetable/fruit, 1/4 protein and 1/4 carbs. I think it would be a good idea to get one of those dishes that are divided into three parts with 1/2, 1/4 and 1/4. I deceive myself when I don't actually measure. One teeny, tiny teaspoon of olive oil is about 120 calories. Youch, I pour it on. Must get into a good habit of measuring it. Anyone else have this problem?

L*I*T*A*, I keep getting an error message when I try to get to the first url mentioned in the post you last wrote for this thread. The satiety article was helpful.

Try drinking water instead of eatting. Put only the portion you should be eatting and then put the rest away completely. That means if some should go to the freezer then put it in its container and put it in the freezer. These are things I have tried.

I am having a really hard time controlling my portion sizes. I never stop eating when I'm full. You'd think that just by recognizing the problem I would be able to control myself. But I get full 50% of the way through my meal by I continue eating 110%. How do you train yourself on willpower?

I have been having urges to eat things I should not be eating. I made my husband take me to Taco Bell today. Also I feel like eating peanut butter by the spoonful. I just can not seem to get control.emoticonemoticonemoticon

Lita thank you for this thread. I do need some support the rest of this month. My Dad died in March and last Sunday was his namesake's birthday, Dad's wedding anniverary is June 30 and that is the last day of my truma group. I am keeping busy with sewing projects and painting projects to keep both my mind and hands busy. You can not eat and sew or you will get the project dirty.
