I just started South Beach last Tuesday, so I had my first weigh-in today. I couldn't BE more excited. I lost 8.6 POUNDS the first week! Of course, I realize it won't and shouldn't continue like that from now on, but what a GREAT motivator it was this morning to see that I was down that much. (BTW, it shows as 9 lbs on my tracker, because apparently you can't do 1/10th on there, but that's no big deal!)
I haven't been very good at posting on my nutritional or fitness trackers (I'm going to try to do better with that), BUT I have written down EVERY SINGLE morsel I have put in my mouth and I have worked out 1 hour a day, 3 days a week (my goal for now) all last week. I had back surgery 3 months ago, so I am still trying to build up my stamina and mobility, but I don't have sciatica down my left leg anymore, so I don't hurt with every step I take. My back is still a bit stiff (they fused my Lumbar 4th and 5th vertebrae), but it's getting better every day.
I have over 100 lbs to lose, so I know the more weight I lose, the better it will be for my back. I realize that (bad) carbs, sugar, binging and using food to "comfort" myself were taking me down a DANGEROUS road. The South Beach LIFESTYLE is DEFINITELY the one for ME!
