Hi all. I am Shane, and I joined SparkPeople primarily to get advice and tips on learning to eat healthier.
I have level|stage 1 hypertension, with my blood pressure hovering in the high 140's to low 150's. I am on medication to control it, but I am very interested in taking control of my health BACK from the pills, and moving to a healthier lifestyle so I can feel better, be more productive, and enjoy life with my family.
My goals are to reduce my blood pressure and get off the meds for that, lose 50 lbs by next summer, and get my body motivated to actually enjoy physical activity, instead of dreading it or making excuses.
I look forward to interacting with you all, and am excited to be stepping out on this adventure!
