Hi, I'm new. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism 20 years ago and was recently diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis on Wednesday. I am on medication and am working with my medical provider on a new treatment plan. I'm looking for support and suggestions regarding what has worked for others so I can discuss those options with him.

I have been on Armour for over ten years. My cardiologist said to never go off. My dr tests me at least annually or when my symptoms effect me. I'm glad you found a dr that is proactive!

As for me, I was on Levothyroxine for about 2 years and my levels were very unstable. The moment I included the equivalent of Armour to the regimen, my levels have remained stable. Again, that worked for me but it does not necessarily mean it will work for you but it is worth considering. Trial and error...

Welcome to the group.

I have a newish dr. I think I've been with her about 2 years. Totally worth a new dr.

I was struggling but she recently put me on Armour and that helped quite a bit.

Hello there and welcome to our group. I am totally with you about changing doctors. One has to do what is needed to feel better about oneself.

Please ensure that you go through the different threads on this team as there's a wealth of information in there. No-one can claim to know 'everything' about Hypothyroidism because it affects everyone differently not to mention the medication also!

Drop us a line to keep us posted on how you're doing. emoticon

Always listen to your body and move on when docs won't listen to you! I've been hypo for 30 years and have only had a great doc and the right meds for 3 years!

Hi! I am Alnita and I have lived with hypothyroidism for 7 years now. I just recently switched doctors because my former doctor NEVER changed my hormone dosage. Needless to say it took me constantly being tired and depressed and gaining 50 pounds to realize I needed to make the change. I am excited about this group and hope to learn more about hypothyroidism and receive encouragement on my weightloss journey. My motto for myself now is emoticon !
