Hi everyone~

Im new here.. im sure ive had hypothyroidism longer, just didnt know it.. but have been diagnosed and on levothyroxine for 7 years.. 2 months ago my Dr upped me again (after several increases over the years), now to 150.. and for the 1st time, im actually feeling the effects of what the med is supposed to do for me, when at or around a normal level.. either that or im just feeling a big boost of feeling good and LOTS of energy from the new increase, that may level out over time.. guess i'll find out the next time they check my levels again..

im glad to be here..

take care~

Thanks again! I actually like strength training. I'm going to try to do it more consistently. What about snacking (grazing) at night? That's my downfall. Any suggestions? I dont have any true "junk" food in the house any more, so I keep noshing on other stuff...but not the fruits & vegetables!

I took up walk/jog & healthier eating & lost 35 lbs. Strength training is a great idea.

Live each moment to its fullest!

Thanks for your words of encouragement. Yesterday was a very low day for me and you helped. I did read the article about Hypothyroidism and it helped. Also, I took the time to do some strength training and for the first time, it alleviated the depression. I've heard that it would work but this is actually the first time it worked. emoticon

When I discovered that I was Hypothyroid, I had been menopausal for about 5 years then. I suspect that I had been suffering from hypothyroidism way before it was actually diagnosed. With this double whamo, losing weight has been an uphill battle to say the least. However, weight loss is possible if one is careful with the food intake and also the amount of exercises that one does.

Good luck on this journey! emoticon

Hi! I'm new, too. I've been taking Levo for 2 yrs, but now that I've started menopause, I feel like it's an uphill battle all the way! Does anyone have any suggestions? I know it's going to be slow, but I dont want to give up! emoticon

I have had hypothyroidism and on medication for about 7 years now. I have never had problems with losing weight until this time. I have been eating right almost everyday and exercising as often also. Nothing is working. I am so frustrated!
