Hi Ginger I was just diagnosed also in May. Its nice that you have lost that much weight already. Wish we all could do that. I felt great for 3 months after the doc put me on a script except lately hasn't been all that well. Wish that I could just start feeling better already so I have the energy to do things with my small children. Well at least I can wake up with the kids before school this year though. I remember last year not being able to get up with the chidlren before school and feeling like I was a worthless mom. At least I know what that was caused from. Well good luck to you and hope that you continue to feel great.

Hello GINGER37610. emoticon on your weight loss. That is wonderful. If only taking our medication could work like that for everyone, it would be great. Also, your way of eating seems to be working for you. It is so funny how certain diets, the medication and Hypothyroidism affects people differently! Keep up the great work. Many emoticon

Hi GInger37610,

Wow- 20lbs- that's Awesome! Sounds like you have a handle on things.
Great that your symptoms are minor. I was diagnosed in March, and since taking med. have very few symptoms as well, cold hands and feet are one of my symptoms too, as was some weight gain. Nice to have you on board.

Glad to have found this page. I was diagnosed a few months ago with Hypothyroidism. I had been on WW for 2 years and kept losing the same 5 lbs over and over. I was getting no where. Went to my doctor who ran a blood test and found the thyroid was just not working right. She put me on meds and I started a low-carb way of eating and have lost 20 lbs. I didn't really notice any symptoms before the meds and no difference with the medicine other than the weight gain. I have noticed in the past month though that my hands and feet get cold easy. My energy level is still good. I run/walk 2 miles most days.
