How's everyone doing?! My name is Jorge, and I have been on Spark People for a little over a month, which is also how long I have been actively engaged in my workout.
I have to start out by saying that I never thought I would be this motivated about anything as far as health and fitness are concerned. I have always looked for excuses to avoid lifting weights or doing any cardio. This isn't to say that I am completely out of shape; I just didn't have the right motivation to push me forward.
So, I finally mustered up the courage a little more than a month ago to go about my pursuit of a healthier lifestyle the only way I knew how: finding the toughest and most intense workout on the market. Now, I don't know if this is the toughest, but it is the toughest one I came by: Insanity.
The Insanity workout has worn me out from day one. Even the Recovery Week - which I am almost at the end of - has been quite the challenge. I recently came to the conclusion that all the work I have done to this point has only been preparation...month two is an absolute beast. Those workouts look absolutely nuts! I know, from the looks of it I am coming off as the antithesis of what your team is all about.
While this workout has been challenging on so many levels, I am having the absolute time of my life! I have never been in a position where I wake up looking forward to working out so much. I have recently decided to incorporate some weight training while I am at work, too. I can definitely say that working out and changing my food choices has changed me over night...literally! I drank caffeinated beverages as though they were water. As a matter of fact, I frequently went days - sometimes weeks - without taking so much as a sip from a water bottle. All that changed when I started this routine.
If you want to know more about my progress, feel free to check out my spark page. Also, I have a blog set up separate from this site. You all are more than welcome to check it out. I try to update it once or twice per week. The link to that is: insane-with-insanity.blogspot.com/
I look forward to getting to know all of you! Take care, and always remember to DIG DEEP!
The words "I can't" are like a cancerous disease...they eat at you until there is nothing left to consume. By saying "I can't" you are killing yourself before even giving yourself so much as a chance to live. I WILL push forward, I WILL dig deep, and I WILL succeed at achieving my goals. Thus, I WILL live on!
