emoticon emoticon back to Sparks. I think the secret to Sparks is setting small achievable goals that you can accomplish in your daily life. Once you have incorporated this goal into your daily living then you set another small achievement goal. These goals add up to a new healthier you, Some of these goals are food goals and exercise goals . Try adding 10 minutes of some sort of exercise to your daily life along with tracking your food. I found the Sparks videos a huge help in finding my passion for kickboxing. I started my new healthy lifestyle one year ago in March and I know emoticon

Hi and welcome to sparks, I agree diet and exercise are the keys to a healthier lifestlye. M GF had the surgery 2 years ago, lost 105 lbs and now she has gained 50 back on. So try exercising and eating healthier first, emoticon

Diet and exercise are the keys -- along with consistency.

Check out the trackers to help you with monitoring your diet and exercise. The Nutrition Tracker is really an eye-opener!

I have been where you are and am happy to say, that once I really committed myself to this journey, I am well on my way to my goal of a healthy weight and lifestyle - without any surgery. From what I have heard about lapband and gastric bypass, if you're not committed to changing your lifestyle for a lifetime, the weight often times does come back.

Best of luck in whatever path you take.

Do you like to dance? If so, try Zumba! Read around this board and look for things that sound like a fun way to work out to you.

I started my Sparkpeople page back in 2008. At that time I planned to get a lapband. I changed my mind, did not change my lifestyle and I am at the same place I was in 2008 yet again. I am also thinking of doing the lapband but thought I should actually TRY to loose the weight for real on my own. So hereI am....
