So, how does this work??!! I've been really good all week, watching what I'm eating and keeping the portions in check. No booze at all all weekend!! Excercising lots every day. Weight loss - 1 pound!! I mean, I know it's a positive thing and it's going the right direction, but honestly, all that for that...... Feel better in myself, but had hoped for at least 2 pounds...

I doubt if any of us who want/need to lose weight WANT to limit our food intake or WANT to be on a diet. For me to lose the 35 pounds I've lost, I had no choice but to count calories and exercise more. Now, I'm into 'maintaining' so I hope it isn't as difficult as before I started dieting.
Hi All, am a newbie here in Scotland too. Trying to get the hang of how to use the site. My big problem is portion sizes! I eat a healthy diet with loads of veg and fruit, and take pretty regular exercise, but it's just those portions! Good luck to you all...
I personally don't "Diet" either. I refuse to limit what I am allowed to have. I eat whatever i want, just limit how much i have. and I am working more water into my diet, i am still getting use to it not having any flavor.
Hi and good luck. Like Jody said I dont consider my self on a diet. I have changed my eating habits. I drink lots and lots of water and just eat smaller portions. I want to learn that when I reach my goal weight I will not gain it back like I have in the past. Shirley

Welcome to the team and SparkPeople. I really don't feel like I'm dieting because I don't deny myself of anything. However, I have changed my eating habits, such as using brown rice, whole wheat pasta, more fruits & veggies etc. But if I want that piece of birthday cake, I eat a small piece. I also added walking to my routine and that has helped with the weight loss too. Believe me, if I can do it any one can. Use the nutrition tracker and drink that water and you will be on your way. Good luck on the adventure to finding a healthy lifestyle.
Im from Scotland, and i'm going to need a lot of help and cheering up if i'm to do this diet thing! Believe me, i've tried it loads of times and fall at the first hurdle. All i want is to be nice and thin this time next year and not feel fat and frumpy. So if anyone fancies a chat, im here
