It took me a whole month to get here, but I have now added jump roping to my daily workout. See my post where we can keep count to see how everyone is doing if you don't mind going public. It will be interesting to see where I am at in another month. (sorry, I don't know how to add links). :) laura

I have been taking the stairs up two flights and down two flight when I come and go to work, as well as when I go to get the mail. Today, I even did a round up and down before heading to the bathroom, which happens to be right across the hall from my office door (quite convenient). I did not get my 10 min walk in today since it has been raining all day - but I will keep pushing on that for now. Next Monday, I will up the ante to 15 minutes and maybe do more stair climbing. Happy Day ... til next time ...

Wow - I did not expect so many responses. Thank you all for you supportive ideas. I need to go pick up the mail at work, so I think I will go the long way and take the stairs. I will try this and a 10 minute walk daily. I will try and let you all know next week how it works out. I hope I can rid the ball and chain for good. :) thanks again!

Some good suggestions so far. I wasnt one for exercise till the doc recommended it. I went to curves and found I could do the 30min 3X a week easy. I recently was sick with bronchitis and could not exercise. Now I am back but started the first week just doing 15 min. Today I did the full 30. I am very tired but feel good I did it I walk at walmart. take my time and dont rush. Just go up and down each aisle.Good luck to you Shirley

Exercise was my hardest part. I started with walking around the block and then have increased it. When I started taking my Ipod the walk went by really quick. I have to say I actually enjoy the time by myself now. Start slow and you will surprise yourself.

no more excuses please set a goal and focus on it and just start an exercise routine just start with 5 minutes when you get up then 5 minutes before taking a shower and then as days pass by you just add more minutes to it and it will be a routine and part of your life changes

Make small exercise goals and gradually increase. I was never one for exercise and began with short walks. I am now doing 2-6 miles every day and feel like something is missing if I don't go. Listening to music helps and having a partner (usually one of my dogs and quite often my youngest son and our other dog) makes it easier.
Walking had given me the energy and motivation to try other forms of exercise.
Do you like gardening? I was surprised to see how many calories this burns.

Yep, great suggestions thus far. A 10 minute walk a time or two a day for starters. Plug in your MP3 player with music you enjoy and walk. Or plug in your music, if it is your thing, and dance for 10 minutes. You are worth it so making it a part of your day is all good!

You know what, I've been the same way, and the only way I've found to combat this is to start with 10 minutes daily. I'm one of those people who felt that exercise was a huge challenge, and how am I going to fit any into my day. But 10 minutes is really easy to find, and once you've been doing it for a few weeks, you'll find how much better you feel after a few weeks, and may decide to set aside 30 minutes for a workout.
As for where to find a good 10 minute workout? I love exercisetv because they have routines for every fitness level. And lots and lots of 10 minute routines that are fun. If you're not sure about how to modify things to fit your level, check out a DVD (Target has great prices on them) or check one out at the library for free.

If you can start with 10 minutes of exercise 3 times a day that would be enough. Schedule it for 3 times a week you can gradually increase it. Monday, Wednesday and Friday do 10 munite of something 3 times a day try it for a month. See what happends

Hello Everyone : Exercise is the most difficult challange I face with regard to my weight loss efforts. I just don't want to expend the energy and I have all kinds of ligitmate excuses. Granted, my life is extremely busy and full of activities stuffed into any blank time slot I have open; however, I just can't seem to get into a comfortable exercise routine. It is my hope this Team will be a great inspiration to me.
