Hi Carolyn. Congrats on the weight loss. Sorry you gained some back but if you lost it once I know you will lose it again. We just have to find a new life style. Not just go on a diet. That does not work.

I agree. You have to find something you like doing and take advantage of it, or you could try new things. you may find one or two you'll enjoy just as much. Mix it up so you not only don't get bored, but it keeps your body working for you making it easier to lose and you don't end up at a standstill. Good luck.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of life you have lived.
What do you LOVE to do that's active? You have to figure it out. If it's playing with a special child in your life, or if it's playing basketball, swimming, dancing, riding a bike...hiking...find something YOU love and do lots of it!
I always promote mine. I started taking Zumba Fitness in December, teach it now and have lost and kept off 30 lbs. It's latin based dance fitness class.
Check your community newsletters and local resources for local activities. Also consider meetup.com to find others who enjoy what you do if it's not something offered in a traditional gym setting.

well i just bought a pedometer and i am so exited to use it on the weight you lose even if you gained some back you are not late to go back on track just look forward to do some dancing aerobics classes join a gym or see if you could get a partner to go on the journey with you
Hi Carolyn. I wear my pedometer every day. When I first started I was sedentary stage also. I began to aim for a little higher each week. Now if I don't hit at least 6000, I feel like a couch potato.

Hi Carolyn...Congrats on your weight loss; eventhough you gained some back; it's not too late to lose it again and for good.
I use a pedometer too, research tells us to add a few hundred steps everyday and to strive for 10,000 steps for cardio health and 12,000 steps for weight loss.
Perhaps you will be motivated if you join a walking challenge or join a team that focused on walking. I know that has helped me.

My name is Carolyn. I've been with SP since Jan 08 and lost 22 pounds but put all but 13 of that back on. I walk for exercise, but recently have not been getting enough steps to move me out of the sedentary stage. I wear a pedometer. I'm looking for FUN ways to exercise.
Maybe you on this team will motivate me!
