Hi all!
I'm newly diagnosed as diabetic. I was on steroids due to itching for several weeks & the dr thinks that this has thrown me into diabetes. For right now, my pcp is comfortable with me trying diet/exercise instead of meds. I'm also going to meet with a nutritionist on the 17th.
Until then, I'm trying to do as much as I can on my own. One of the things I'm really struggling with is breakfast! Mornings are the worst for me because of other medical issues. I deal with a lot of nausea, pain & fatigue and most mornings I just need some kind of super quick breakfast that won't add to my nausea. I know it's not the *best* thing for me, but is there some kind of "bar" or crackers or something that I could eat that I can take with my morning meds until I'm able to eat something more substantial later on in the day? This wouldn't be an "every day" thing, just for my bad days when I'm struggling to get out of bed.
Any suggestions??? I also have a TON of food allergies that were newly diagnosed. (Basically I went to an allergist to figure out why I was having the itching---since seeing him I've been diagnosed with diabetes, 18 different food allergies and a latex allergy as well. Also, something points to this all having an autoimmune cause as one of my markers was abnormal on a test. Really starting to regret ever seeing this allergist! He's had nothing but bad news since I saw him LOL!)
Thanks so much!!
