God bless you! I have only known for a couple of weeks of my diabetes myself. The carbs are the hardest part. I have had other diabetics I have known over the years say that diet pop even spikes their sugar. I guess it tricks the body. Also be aware that if you are sick or injured it can greatly affect your blood sugar. I am finding that the testing is telling me a lot. It seems that cutting pop altogether has made a big difference. You will get a lot of great advice on here from fellow diabetics. Hang in there. Prayers are with you.

I was on my way (w/my husband) out of town to Christmas shop Dec.19th when a lady ran a stop sign coming onto a 4 lane, 65 mph hwy, going as fast as we were! My DH was air flighted to a town 86 miles from our home in one direction & I 90 miles in another. I found I had a broken neck, 4 processors broken in the lower bk & alot of other breaks, bruises, collapsed lower lung &&&&& I was running a blood sugar of 403!!! I am alive, alot still hurts, BUT I can feel all of it, most things still wks including the ten fingers & toes wiggle wonderfully...... Thanks Be to God! Now, I need all the help/support to get the diabetic condition under control. It seems that I love all the WRONG carbs, and fruit spikes me just as badly as my nightly Reeses (snack size) pbc! I am a very thankful to be alive, still have my husband, get the chance to learn how to live a health-er life, and meet all of you.
