Hi, I'm Karen, and I am newly diagnosed...what level we are still tyring to pin down. My dr says i am type 2, but went to teh nutritionist and she says just Inuslin Resistant...I have an appt iwth the specialist in 2 weeks, so i think that will be the official verdict.
I had GD with my daughter, but controlled it with diet and all was well. We discovered this because we have been trying to have #2 for a year and a half and were at a loss, so ran the GTT to see if i was IR and sure enough there it is. Anyone have any insight into how long it takes once things are under control?
I was put on metformin (1000 mg/day) last week, so hopefully that helps!
