Hello everyone,

I've been on spark for a while. I am not diabetic but my husband is. It's genetic and critical. His family on his dad side have this disease and it's an ugly disease!! They have all managed to die super young because of the disease, not making it past 50 or 55 yrs old. I'm terrified. My husband was diagnossed in 2007 when we got married, before the wedding he dropped a lot of weight. He went to the doc once I put him on my insurance and sure enough it was his sugar levels. 300 - 500 levels =(. He's been on medication and is now on high blood pressure and cholestrol is high. I'm terrified to loose him at an early age. I want him to live a long healthier life and I know we need to take control. I can use all the help i can on here to educate myself, learn what he should and shouldn't eat, portions, etc. I NEED to learn so we can grow old together. This will benefit me too since I'm trying to get healthy. How do I change my SP to a diabetic nutrition??!! Thank you guys!
