Hi all! I've been a Spark for several years, off and on. I'm back because I was diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes last week. Diabetes runs in my family so I'm not surprised by the dx.
Since 1/1/11 I've lost 32 lbs without really trying so I knew something was not right, especially since I have never in my life lost weight easily. I've decided to accept the good with the bad, so the weight loss is good even though diabetes is bad. My goal is to lose 18 lbs more.
I can't exercise because it makes my migraines and CFIDS worse, but I hope as my glucose levels drop, so will my migraines and that may make it possible for me to start exercising again.
My dad has had Type 2 for about 40 years and has managed it successfully all that time by diet, so he is an inspiration to me. My Mom used to keep him on track before she died, but he is totally doing great managing it on his own now.
Hope everyone is doing well today. I have a killer migraine and need to get back to bed soon.
