When I was first diagnosed I searched for months for a magic food chart too only to find one doesn't exist. It was so hard and scary at first. And it seems like everywhere I looked there was a different chart for your numbers. ADA is 70-120 fasting and no more than 180 after eating. Another place was 80-120 fasting and no more than 140 after eating. Your A1C is high but it's not horrible yet. I know someone who's is 13. Mine was 8.6 when I was diagnosed and after 3 months had it down to 6.8. Eat healthy carbs and on the occasion you eat things like rice, potatoes, pasta, white breads just eat 1 portion and only eat things like that maybe 1-2 times a week.. That is almost impossible to do with pasta :) Cardio exercise helped me some but strength training really got results. If you're able, I suggest doing coach Nichole's bootcamp workouts. They're short and the workouts will not over exhaust you..well maybe day 5 but they did wonders for me. I have fit, firm and fired up and I love it. We've all been where you are and we know how you are feeling so lean on us and we will hold your hand through this journey. Now, go take a walk and don't forget to drink the water:) Are you on meds? I know that it is soo frustrating. Your numbers are high. AiC has to be lower than 6.o or it is considered diabetic level. Your fasing blood sugar is high, Diabetic level is over 100. bet thing to do is to cut out as many carbs as you can, Drink water when you feel hungry and see if gthat helps the hunger. I'm here and terrified because I finally got the news I dreaded. In October, I was told I was pre-diabetic and had to lose weight. I really tried and lost some weight but gained it back. Right now I want to cry, because today I was told I had Diabetes.
I'm so confused, I don't know what to do. What can I eat, nobody gave me an eating chart. I'm 180 pounds and short. Doc said my A1C is 7.6 and my FBS is 168. I don't even understand those numbers.
