I was diagnosed in September of last year with type 2 diabetes. I went to the doctor after watching my aunt lose her leg and die from complications related to her diabetes. All the women in my family have been diagnosed after the age of 30 (I was 32). I am on Byetta and Metformin. For the first few months I did good, adjusted my eating habits and saw my bs numbers go down. In February of this year I fell off the wagon. I got bronchitis and quit exercising for a few weeks (which has turned into 3 months) and my eating has gone back to the way it was before. I am hoping to find motivation and support here to get myself back on track and make the changes necessary to avoid what I saw my aunt going through in her final days. I don't want that to be my future. I need to get healthy and stay that way, I have a lot of life left ahead of me and I want to be able to enjoy it.
