Thanks BLAIRSTREETGIRL! well, I've slipped a bit with the exercise but I'm motivated to get back to it. I hate how easy it is to slip out of it, to find excuses. I guess the best thing to do is not let a slip become a full on halt. Good luck to you as well

Hi, AprilRocks. I was just diagnosed 2 months ago. I'm trying to control my diabetes with diet and exercise.

I was scared to death, too, but I'm slowly moving past that. Just stick to your eating plan and exercise (sounds like you are way better at the exercise part than I am!) and I'm sure you will be okay. Good luck to you!

Hi! I was diagnose about a week and a half ago. I actually like exercise but getting started is what my challenge is (I have a problem with procrastination in many aspects of my life) luckily my husband has been a big help and we walk together. I am working my way up to longer sessions. Last week ten minutes was hard but that was expected, having just been in the hospital. and today I actually walked for 20 minutes and didn't feel like I was going to die.

Hi April and welcome to the group. I am so sorry about your ticker not working. I have problems with mine too. I got frustrated and gave up on it. I'll look into it again this weekend when I have more time and get back with you on that. We are glad to see you here. It is scary when you first find out you have it. We can learn to manage it and we can even make it to where we can sometimes get off medicine if you are on it. That's the goal for a lot of us. If you have any questions, just start a new topic under "General Team Discussion Forum". We are a small but growing group and we have some great members here that are very knowledgeable. If we don;t know the answers we will certainly try to find out or at the very least point you in thew right direction. Again welcome! We hope to learn more about you soon.
I'm Becky and I was just diagnosed in February. I was totally shocked although I shouldn't have been since I am overweight and have been for a while. The one thing I can suggest to you also is to remain active in your groups and keep working on your weight and exercise. Exercise is something I have to continually work on. I am very busy especially during the week. I also am not a fan of exercise. That would be pretty obvious and the reason I am in this position now. I find it easy to walk, even when I am tired it seems to relax me. I have started a walking routine that is more consistent since I am on summer break at least in school.
Did your doctor put you on any medicine or insulin? When were you diagnosed?

Welcome to the team April.

Weird about your tracker not working. Maybe it's something with that particular one. Try a different one and see if it will work. If it does, then switch back. It could just be a glitch or something.

Hi All, my name is April and While I'm not new to SP I am new to Diabetes. I tell ya when I found out I was scared. Slowly I am realising it is not a death sentence and that I don't have to wind up on dialysis while I waste away. I wrote more about it on my Spark Page. I just wanted to quickly introduce myself here.

BTW, I haven't been on in so long that I don't remember how to get my weightloss ticker to show the right weight. can anyone help me with that?
