Hi everyone, new to the team and spark. Don't have a lot of time on the computer or to figure all this out so a quick challenge is what I need. I do most of my computer work from my phone so it is usually short and quick. Most of my exercise is biking, I do about 15 to 20 miles 4 times a week. I have about 10 to 15 pounds to lose and can't seem to get it off, hopefully this will do it.

Hi! I'm new to the team but not to sparkpeople. I lost 25 lbs with sparkpeople last year, took a break and came back (but unfortunately I had deleted my user name and all and I had to start over emoticon
I've lost 60 lbs total and I need to lose 40 more or so. I need to use these smaller blocks of time to exercise because I need it to become habit. I like this philosophy.
I am mom to ten great kiddos and they will all be in school this year! (2 are grown, only 1 of those is in school so I only have 8 in K-12)
Not sure what to do with myself, so I'm sure sparkpeople will be part of it! emoticon
I'd love to hear from some of you. I think support, even virtual support helps tons with motivation!

Hi... been with Spark a little over 2 months.. .down 10 pounds but kind of stalled. Hoping adding a little different type of activity will start the scale moving again... I do a lot of walking and biking so this will be a little different !!

Hey all :) New to the team but not to Spark. I've been with Spark since the end of last October and have been pretty successful. I've lost 53 lbs. and have never been more excited!!! I can't seem to shake these last 20 lbs. though so I need to add a little extra to my workout schedule. Looking forward to the daily challenges and meeting fellow Sparkies :):):)

Hi Team! I just read LIVINTODAY's post and wish to assure her -- SHE IS NOT THE OLDEST MEMBER ON THE TEAM! I'm 72 - and just joined today, at the invitation of another Team Member.

Been here been there. I am rejoining. I have to keep moving. Been at spark for a while. Married with 3 kids. One of them just graduated from high school with honors and one is in college. My youngest sweetie is special..so he will need more time learning. It is cool cause he is my biggest cheer leader. Time to keep me well also. Mothers are known to be the last on the list. But I have learned I have to care for me too.

Wanda I have some struggles but I going keep moving at my own pace. Good to be back.

Hi! I can really use a daily challenge. I may be the oldest person on the team though (64). I'm starting out at a "beginner" status especially since I'm just getting to the end of a long physical therapy program following a knee replacement in April.
This team sounds like just what I need to get my motivation back. I've been sedentary much too long. I guess I have about 20 lbs to lose and lots of muscle tone to gain.
I hope I can be an active participant of the team! emoticon

Hi!! New to the team. I have been working towards making myself fit and healthy for the past two years. I have been working out diligently in that time ...but I have been stuck. I lose inches but not pounds. I have to diet and make sure that I am not complacent in my workout. This team looks awsome!! Looking forward to the encouragement and encouraging others!! emoticon

I am posting this as an intro and as something to look out for. You'll see what I mean.

I joined SP on Oct 17, 2010. On Dec 15, 2010, I went and saw my Dr and weighed in at 206.In January, I did the 28 Day Boot Camp and started serious cardio (walking) and strength training. I started the 5 week walk/jog program, then immediately went into the running program. By Mar 21, I had gone down to 193.6. I felt the programs were embraced by my metabolism.A week later I lost 4 lb and on Apr 18, I was down to 181 with a 24.52 healthy BMI! ( a goal) I reached my goal 170 (169.5) BMI 22.69 on May 16. I had run a 5K on May 14. On May 21 I did another and was admitted to the Hospital on May 23 with pneumonia. I had broken myself down probably because I was struggling to eat at least 1600 cals a day. I should have been much higher.

When I left the hospital on May 27, I was not happy with the weight of 159.5! I had lost weight while sick. Now I had to gain back that weight and get my strength back. Today I weighed in at 168.4 with a 22.81 BMI. I decided that I would maintain between 165 and 170. (since this post I found 165-175 was more realistic.) My energy is back, I am doing regular cardio (2 times a week, walking now) and strength training ( 3 times a week, full body, 10 exercises, 2 sets). The key here is I am doing between 1790 and 2140 cals a day. (I usually hit 1940) I have been maintaining for 2 weeks now and am doing fine.

Bottom Line: I did not listen to my body. Those weeks in May, I was light headed, occasionally dizzy, and had shortness of breath! And THAT was between two 5Ks! I've become reasonable now and not so obsessive. Listen to your body,.please, and don't overdo it.

Now my comments on QuickFire in response to an email request. I love having a choice of exercises to do if I can't handle the daily challenge. They support my daily workout whether cardio or ST. I haven't been active on these forums but I am very active in other teams. I should have given feedback here that I do love the challenges and work them throughout the day. SO here is my positive feedback. I hope to be more active but I'm just knocking the challenges out and loving them. Thanks for the daily email diligence,,,and keeping this team alive and active....

Hello, Im not new to Speark but new to the Team. I have been off and on the website over the last 2 years and have just recently got back into it. I had restarted my plan with the goal to firm up and loose some weight before a trip to Mexico in early May. Hello, my name is Clarissa and I am 21, soon to be 22, years old. I have used SparkPeople before and stuck to it for a while but then i ended up gaining everything plus more back... This time I plan on doing it right and stick with it for life. I want to have a healthy life style with my fiance and feel better about myself. Right now I am at my heaviest ever!!! I weigh 262 pounds and plan on losing 120 pounds and keeping it off for good!! My fiance and I plan on getting married on Feb 18, 2012 so i have a little less than a year to lose weight and be healthier on my wedding day. My name is Debbie and I just had a baby 8 weeks ago. I go back to work in 3 weeks and I work a 4-10 schedule. I'm afraid this kind of schedule plus a new baby and lots less sleep are going to make it hard to workout. I need all of the help I can get to get back in shape and into my normal clothes. I don't want to keep wearing my maternity clothes (that are much too big) all summer.
