Hello all I have been looking around on this site but don't now have the time to dive in like I want and plan to! For now, I'd like to introduce myself to get started.
I am a 44 year old female with a lifelong love affair with the fitness industry (group exercise leader and personal trainer). I have done cardio, weights, any mixture thereof and every diet known to mankind. When I finally gave all that up (the maniacal aspect of it, anyway) then my body leaned out and I learned that CARBS are my problem. They make me hungry, tired, and crave more.
I am pretty lean at this point, and want to try carb cycling to get to the leanest that I can. I have some stubborn, midlife fat that was never there before and never so...well...STUBBORN. I LOVE new diet tricks (have tried or read about them ALL, just for "fun") and this one has huge, potential, that I can see!
Today is my first carb up day. I'm just adding healthy carbs as my "taste" for things sugary and fatty is gone (Miracle of low carbbing for me). I will add brown rice, cereal and milk today. I love that this is a tweak-able diet. I'll play with it til I find my best combo. This time I did three low carb days and this is my up day. I work out pretty moderately, so I'm not currently correlating days with workouts, but I will get to that, eventually, as I tighten up the macros, days, workouts, etc. I'm excited to have a "project" to try and re-try. I have no particular weight goal or bf% to get to (don't even know mine currently) but I just would like to watch and see what happens.
Looking foward to reading everything on this team and any recommendations for other reading would be welcomed. I'm an information junkie, to be sure.

Oh, one more thing...the low carb thing stopped working for me. My body adjusted and then I just got carbs too low, fuzzy headed, cranky and stopped seeing results. Everything I read suggests this is the next move that will work. I love the idea of a new challenge.
