WOW - thanks SO much for the post and for the answers about how to find the BFFM method. In the past I had only read one way to do carb cycling and was wondering about other ways to do it. This will be SO HELPFUL to read later. I printed it out (the BFFM method that was posted under message boards.) thanks again!!!

That does sound very do-able. One of the hard things about weight loss is the idea of never. Never have this or that favorite food again. Never do this, never do that. It sounds like the changes you mention would be pretty easy to adapt as a new lifestyle.

My advice for you just starting out w/ carb cycling is to KEEP IT SIMPLE! And the BFFM method does that for you. You are able to keep healthy carbs in the first 2-3 meals of the day and then you taper them off for meals 3-6. Every 4th day you have a high day and have healthy carbs at every meal. You keep your protein and fat the same just increase carbs on your 2 high days per week. For fat loss, make sure your low days are 20-30% calorie deficit and your high day at maintenance.

Remember to keep your carbs healthy ones like oatmeal, brown rice, quinoa, sweet potato, etc. If you want fruit, add it to the first couple meals of the day.

Hi,
Funny, I have that book in my cart at Amazon. Glad you told me it is basic. I have so many diet books it is embarrassing, So, I can put that one back. Thanks!!!

I'm thinking of purging my bookshelves and tossing out all those diet books. Obviously, I know a lot now about dieting and also good nutrition, but, I'm not finding the answers in books and it might be very liberating to just toss them out.

Check the message boards here. There really aren't too many "books" out there. I found one called The Carb Cycling Diet, but it was pretty basic and for the absolute beginner w/ diet. But the info supplied from team members is great. There are a few different ways to carb cycle so you will need to find the one that fits you best.

Hi All,
I've done low carb with great results in the past, but lately find it very hard to make it work. So, I am thrilled with the idea of carb cycling. Reading TNT, which starts off with a 4 week low-carb Phase I. Are there any good books/web sites out there on cycling that you recommend?
