I just posted what I am doing for my carb cycling- can you tak e a look and let me know if I am totally off! I have to wait for a minute to order the BFFM- I just got a pretty spendy speeding ticket- and am SO tapped out for cash! (I know that 30$ is not a lot- but 250$ ticket is kinda making me squirm and I havent even paid it yet! :)
I HIGHLY recommend BFFM. Great, great tool! I have read probably way too many fitness/nutritional books and articles and I always come back to BFFM. Just makes the most sense.
I can't wait to get back on track! I just found out I have a torn disc and I need to go to physical therapy for it. As soon as I get the ok to work out again, I am THERE! It has been killing me to be off track for this past month.
I started carb cycling earlier this year. I think I have read every article and book on the subject! LOL! IMO, BFFM carb cycling makes the most sense to me and isn't so extreme.
I was stuck at a plateau too and needed to get it moving again. Carb cycling worked. It worked great for me. I actually need to re-start!! I have been having back problems lately and have fallen off the wagon a bit. But I am hoping to be back at it REAL SOON!
Hey! Thanx for the warm welcome :) ! I have a bodybugg that tells me how much I burn per day- I have set it up to have a 500 cal deficit- I am at my last 10 lbs- although really I want to lose 20lbs of fat and gain 10 lbs of lean muscle :) (I think that's how it will look, but who am I? )
I am going with the low for 3, moderate for 1, low for 2, high for one... Today is day one. I read what you wrote BFFM- and I think that's what I am doing. I read so much- I think I am taking a little from here and a little from there.
I wake up at 5am and am down by 10 (sometimes I don't actually fall asleep tho until 11 or so.) I burn anywhere from 2500 cals a day to 3300 cals a day depending on what I am doing. I lift weights 4 days a week and do cardio 6 days a week (run 3 days and walk 3 days- is what I shoot for.)
I am really excited about this carb cycling. How long have you done it? how have your results been? I have been stuck at 135-138 for MONTHS! I really want to use this as a means to get a hold of my binging tho. I can be so good for so long and then I break. With this I think every 7th day will seem like a cheat day for me, and then maybe I wont be so crazy over cake after a month of not eating it :) I am hoping to break thru this plateau and start getting the ripped results I have been reading about. I am not a bodybuilder... but I would love to get my body fat low- and look sculpted... :)

There are a couple ways to carb cycle, including low and no carb days. I agree w/you, I don't think no carb days are necessary for just weight loss. Curious, What is the plan you are going to follow?
As for a deficit, it takes 3500 calories to lose 1 lb. So if your deficit is 500 calores everyday (7 days/wk) that will = 1 lb loss. In everything I have ever read, they suggest not losing more than 2 lbs per week, which would be a deficit of 1000 calories per day.
And even though 5-6 meals per day are suggested, I would go by your schedule and what works best for you. I do know a couple people who eat 7 meals per day b/c they are up early and to bed late. But... they still remain w/in their calorie and macronutrient range.
I am new to this team- spent the last 2 days reading info and putting together a plan. I am very excited! I have been "weaning" myself off the carbs the last 2 days too. I usually consume about 250-300g of carbs. (40/30/30) I have been stuck at a plateau tho since April. I get to my lowest weight (134) and eventually I have a "cheat day" and usually cant get back up from that disastrous fall... and it takes me a week or two to get back to where I was... and then I fail again. So many people are telling me I look fine, and that I don't need to lose more weight... but I am still at 28% body fat! I am 5'3 so I think being between 21%-24% body fat is ideal and so is 120-125 lbs.
I seen this team thru fitgirl15? and I think this is the missing piece. I started my whole program in January with South Beach and did well- but I couldn't keep at such low carbs for so long. I think this 3 days low, and 1 day high seems very do able... and actually takes my mind off cakes and cookies (my down fall) because I will be preoccupied with other things like menu planning and stuff.
I own a body bugg so I know what I burn day in and day out. My only question is- your allotted 6 meals a day, if I have too high of a deficit (like 1500) should I add another meal or two (small ones) There are days I burn 3000 cals. Let me know what you think K!
I am starting today with a low day. I was gonna do a NO carb day but with all that I have read, I really don't think its necessary.
