Hi Hopeful Not sure I have any suggestions, I have the same habits as you do. And I struggle as well as you do. There is not a lot happening in here, but then sometimes there are. There are a couple of other teams that chat a little more, se my sparkteams if you want to. But I can tell you that you are not alone on your journey. I have learned that I have to say no to the first glass, because that is what will get me down the slope. But then there are the days where I feel I deserve it, or need it, or the day has been hell, or the day where it would be rude not to accept it, and all the other excuses. I have learned that if I stay in mental balance and get enough sleep it is somewhat easier. And I use tonic/cranberry (diet both) to have something that "feels" like a dring. In 70% of the cases I can ride the storm off with a CT drink. But sometimes not.

I have never spoken to anyone online before and more importantly struggle to control my red wine intake. I am hoping that with some like-minded support I will learn some self-control which is why I have signed up to join this team. I eat fairly healthily most of the time however I have problems with portion control and the minute I have a glass of wine all self control goes out of the window. I can rarely drink only one glass of wine and after a few I reach for the savory snacks and then the chocolate to balance the savory and then another glass of wine etc. I am sure that if I can control my drinking I will have more success with losing weight but a glass of wine is so tempting after a long and busy day! I have only just joined SparkPeople and have decided this week to replace one meal a day with a suggested healthy meal (my meals are not too bad anyway, just too large!) and to cut back on the wine this week. Any support or suggestions are very welcome.
