The sunshine has been great for the spirits, but I seem to be struggling with the CFS and vertigo more lately. Not sure if I am overdoing it or if I am just trying to fight off a bug. All in all I am quite happy. Yes, I overdid it tonight. Just start over and yes, I feel the guilt too, but not enough to let it sabotage my whole program.
I did get a real energy burst and tore some rooms apart and cleaned real well...I guess that is a start to get moving. We have pizza cravings tonight and over did. I know you aren't suppose to feel guilt just start afresh, but I always do. Looking forward to some nice weather this weekend....maybe get some fresh air. Thanks for asking. Are you doing well?
Roxie, It has been a few days now. How are you doing with your program? Have you been able to adapt it to work for you? We are suppose to get some sunshine and warmer weather on Saturday. I sure hope so. It will be so much more fun to get out and stretch the legs.
Hey Cathy, I sure needed that encouragement. It sure is hard to work through the pain. I guess you are right, small steps. Thanks for your ideas and kindness. I guess we all have our health problems to move through. I will get busy and try all that you suggested....Thanks again.
Thank you DebbieAnne , I guess I just can't seem to get motivated with the pain, however I know full well exercise would help the pain. Thanks for the encouragement and ideas; I will try hard to work through this pain using some of your ideas. I appreciate your encouragement.
Welcome to the team. I too used the chair exercises after my major round of vertigo and CFS that lasted for months. As I got stronger, I was able to walk farther and drop off the chair exercises. Best of luck on your health and wellness journey.
I remember I gained weight after my foot surgery from being inactive. there are other means of exercises. Spark People ahs cool exercise videos for you to watch. there are even chair exercises for wheelchair people. On your Spark Page you will find nutrition trackers and fitness trackers that can really be helpful. Best of luck
Welcome to the group. I hear you about this infernal rain, especially this month. With a little searching through this website you can find plenty of exercises, cardio and strength, that will only require standing room. As for some of your health issues you will find that exercise will sometimes substantially reduce the pain. Many article on this subject. As for taking Vitamin D you need to be careful because it can be toxic. I take it myself but stay within the recommended amounts. My wife has to take 1000 IU because hers was to low, but that will be only temporary. Good luck on your healthy journey. Being consistent is the key. Consistency in logging in all your food and fitness is essential to losing weight and getting fit. I would suggest getting in the habit of logging into SparkPeople everyday and go to the "SparkPoints" page and try to complete every line. It will help train yourself with being consistent.
Hi I'm Roxie, 64 years old; I need to lose 46 pounds. I live in Oregon, where it rains all the time! I hate the rain, I have to use a light, because I have SAD and take loads of vitamin D. I also have fibromyalgia and chronic fatique, I'm in pain most of the time. I can't afford a gym, can't walk outside until summer, than I can't walk far due to having foot surgery. We live in a small house, so we have no room for workout equipment. I'm not a lazy person, our home is always spotless, so I keep moving. I don't know what to do to exercise. I am losing very slowly, than I stay in one spot, it seems forever. Anything from anyone?
