Hi Leslie, Welcome to the Oregon Team and to Spark People. I have been here close to four years now and am still discovering new things. SP should be fun and uplifting. My recommendation is to set the timer for ten minutes and post and check out the articles and challenges. When the timer goes off, get up and exercise or do active chores for ten minutes. Then decide if you want to post another ten minutes. That little trick helps me exercise and clean house and limits the amount of time I spend on the computer, because before you know it and hour has slipped by and then you feel guilty for not getting anything done. Hello, I joined Sparkpeople last week. I was overwhelmed at first by all that it entails. I am just starting slowly. I would like to get to know others going through this journey like myself. I have a group in my FB that I try to inspire others, but I need inspiration as well. My friend KathieRae suggested I join Sparkpeople. I am a fulll-time student at the local college, and have a 9 yr. old son, and a 15 yr. old daughter who live with me and my husband. I look forward to getting to know some people and swapping stories, helping encourage others, while they help keep me motivated also. I look forward to hearing from you all. I may need some advice on how to add meals and exercise etc. onto my page, for now, I am just going to continue to do that part on my own, as I have been for the last 11 weeks, and when I have more time I will get more detailed into this site. My favorite saying is "keep on keepin' on."
Losing the weight is a small fraction of the battle...dealing with the emotional baggage along the way makes you successful...(speaking from personal experience).:-D
