Welcome to the team. You are fortunate if you can build muscle fast. Building muscles is building up your metabolism to burn more calories faster. One thing to watch out for is to make sure you are eating enough calories to support your workouts. Some people make the mistake of restricting their calories to much and do not lose weight even if working out hard.
You can do this. I started out at 286 lbs 1/1/2 years ago. When I joined Spark on 1/1/10 I was at 279 lbs. I am now down to 212 lbs. I take in about 2200 calories on the average while working out and 1730 calories on days I do not work out.
Good luck to you with your goals and your healthy journey.
1/1/10 Start Wht 279 lbs
12/1/114 Goal 190
**Maintain** "OR" set new Goal! 170's maybe??

My real name is Keith. I currently weigh 270. My goal weight is 215. I have the body type that packs on muscle quickly, so when I exercise, if I am not careful in finding the balance between aroebic and weight training I will lose weigh much slower. I weighed 305 a year ago and got down to 255 before the holidays. Since then I have been struggling--focus, motivation, determination; the usual dietary foes. I eat a real healthy diet anyway...lots of veggies, fruit, red meat maybe once every month. Mostly fish and chicken. My blood work up and other lab numbers are awesome. Everything is normal and in the proper ranges. The doc says I am "fat fit". So I am here to get the weigh down so I can stay fit but not as fat.
