Welcome to the team. SparkPeople has saved me and put me on the right track. I have been with Spark for 13 months. I have been on my own nutrition food plan I devised on my own. My key is logging in all my food daily and staying within my calorie range and log in all my fitness, SparkPeople has helped me build a good foundation. In fact my food bill has decreased, for my wife and I, considerably about $350.00/month. Most of the money is saved by not going out for fast foods or buying convenience foods from the market. Most meals are prepared here at home.

Hi everyone! My name is Lauri and I am a 40 year old twice divorced woman with no kids living in Clackamas, Oregon. I have decided to join to help me in my new healthy eating journey and goal to lose weight. A friend of mine introduced me to Take Shape for Life which is a division of Medifast where you're supposed to eat 5 of their supplements a day and then one lean and green meal that you make yourself. I couldn't afford the program, so she is supporting me in trying to mimic it as best I can on my own. I am starting off at 396 pounds and would like to get down to somewhere around 160-175 pounds in the next 2 years. She has lost 75 pounds just in the first 3 months! I would love to pull down numbers like that, but I have to be realistic. I hope to make many friends that will support me in this journey and help me through the rough patches. I'm a good friend and will support you too.
