We all hit that "Ahh-Haa" moment at some point that spurs us on to make a change. The key to this website, as you found in the book, is to be consistent and accountable. Login everyday to SparkPeople fill in your Nutrition page and Fitness page. From Spark I have learned what to eat and how much to eat. You will find from various article that it is not one thing you change in your diet that makes the majority difference. I thought Carbs was the enemy but learned to make it my friend. I have a great workout program that requires me to eat more Carbs than I was used to. In your body it is like a fire and the Carbs is the kindling to help burn the calories. Exercise is the other key to losing weight. Even if it starts out at 10 min. in the morning 10 min mid day and 10 min. in the evening, as long as it is consistent you will be building up your metabolism. I(t is suggested an aggregate of 30 min,/day. Good luck to you in this venture. Read all the articles on this website you can get your hands on. Read peoples Blogs and their experiences. I am so super excited to join SparkPeople. I found the book at the grocery store and read the whole thing that night. The next day I joined the club :o) To start out at my heaviest I weighed in at 260 lbs. I was so upset one day when someone asked me when my baby was due that I decided then and there to change. That was April of this year and that day I started a lowcarb diet. Well as you can imagine that didn't last to long. I just can not eat like that. Well i lost 15lbs and i have kept it off since april. But i have a long way to go still to be at a healthy weight. I am really very determined to get in shape and be healthy for myself and my family. I know that I can do it this time.
