Wife and I have been sailing/living on our boat for last several years, in between 4-6 mo. "visits" to our home in Yachats. Now we find ourselves in Australia, and it costs too much to fly home just for fun. Anyway, I just returned from the hospital...was in for a week after having a cardiac episode...figure it must be time for a new plan!
I've lost weight a couple of times in my life, like 85+ pounds, and it felt so good I just relaxed and put it all back. This time I'm more motivated; quitting cigs, exercising, etc. cuz it's kind of life or death time. This isn't something I'm going to try to do, it's something I have to do, and this site seems like it will be a big help. We love having the diet and exercise all planned out for us, and the substitutions being so easy ( wife Ladysailor is on the program too).
So, during the next couple of years, I'll be lurking here, offering and accepting encouragement, and sharing landmarks as they occur. BTW, just weighed myself at the nearby fish processing plant...down 11 lbs. already since they weighed me at the hospital less than a week ago! I know it's probably just water weight and I won't keep seeing such dramatic results, but it still feels good to know I'm on my way. May we all feel fine in 2009!
