I have had soft scrambled egg, Yum! I also put some low fat mozerella on mine for added protein with the egg. All I can eat still is 2 Tablespoons at the most before I start feeling full and I stop immediately.
Hubby will also fix chicken breast-broiled or roasted and then take some for me and use some gravy and puree the meat for me so I can have a bit. I usually end up saving some for later as 2 tablespoons is not much-but all I can eat at a time.
Love cottage cheese. Plus, I take my Low sodium V8 juice and put my unflavored protein powder in it. (gives me my vegetables with protein)
Onward with my Journey!!!!
Location: Albany, NY
Eastern time zone.
Surgery Date: 12/17/2012
RNY with Dr. T.Paul Singh at Albany Medical Center.
Which happens to be where I work.
The first thing I ate was a scrambled egg- I remember being so shocked at how it filled me up.
I also remember the taste of the bit of sea salt on it, and the absolute delicious flavor of it- NIRVANA!!
That memory will stay with me forever. :)
Hope you have a great day!
Thank you so much for your response. I am feeling a little better now that I am on soft foods but I can only eat food with constancy once a day. I got really nauseated when I started soft foods so I eat a lot of cottage cheese and Greek yogurt which have lots of protein.
I had a pouched egg last night and it was soo good. I am taking it really slow so I don't get sick
Yes DLEBARRE- I went thru the exact same thing at some point in the first two weeks after my RNY back in June 2012.
I realized too that while the majority of it was mourning my relationship with food, part of it was also what's called a healing crisis- the body and mind healing after such a life and body changing event.
It's all good though- try to celebrate the changes and epiphanies you will no doubt have!
I am exactly 7 months post op today and have had some really interesting observations about food, myself, and behaviours related to both as well as others.
If I can be of any help, I am all too happy to do so!
You are not alone I went through the same thing but I promise you will adjust and one egg to me is better than no .
I am two weeks post op the Sleeve and finally on Soft foods. Some weird happened to me yesterday....I cooked two eggs (not knowing my limits yet) and I could barely eat one. The dogs got the rest. I was really really sad about this. It hit me that I made a life decision that I can never take back. I know it is worth my health, which is why I did it, but I am almost grieving food. I read this could happen but didn't think my bond with food was that strong. Hmmm. ... I think it is.
Anyone go through this? Advice?
