hey everyone. my name is nicole. I am 29 yrs old and almost 200 lbs, I say it every year by the time I am 30 I will reach my goal of 130-140 which is where i feel my best since its around the corner its time to get serious. I used to be super active and lost alot of weight doing WW but money is so tight I cant afford going to meetings. This time I will lost this weight once and for all. I enjoy all types of music, walking, yoga, being with friends and family, playing with my dog and cat and just being me. I just became a CNA and I know that it will help to some degree with being active at work but if I am huffing and puffing what good am I?
I need help and thats why I am here.

I'm a Very overweight woman that has to get control of her eating and get the weight off.
Been trying for a number of years and it's only lately that I seem to be getting anywhere.
I have 50 lbs left to lose of the 60 lb goal.

Thought I'd better introduce myself. I'm Vicki, I'm 54 years old, married, and have 1 grown son that lives in NC. I'm also 100 lbs over weight. In 2005 I was 142 lbs but due to a lot of things my eating and exercise routine changed for the worst and since then I steadily climbed to 245.8 lbs. Since Sunday I've been on a new food and exercise plan and as of this morning I'm 240.2 lbs. So I'm finally doing something right once more.
I have no idea how long it'll take me to reach my goal weight of 145 lbs but I'm working on 10 lbs at a time. I'm hoping to be under 200 lbs by the first of the year at least. Can use plenty of added support.

Hi everyone! My name is Pia, got here after GONABFIT left me a comment on my page and thought this was cool. :)

I'm 32, I've reached goal weight last year, but I gained 10 lbs and can't seem to shake it off. Why are the last 10 lbs always the hardest? Haha! I hate it! I kind of gave up trying to get out of my plateau, and I need to keep focused and motivated to get back to my goal weight and to get rid of my "food baby", which is what I lovingly call my tummy pooch that never wants to leave.

So... a few days ago I decided that I needed to get back on track, get focused, stay determined and to JUST DO IT! Woohoo!!! I'm glad I found this group which seems pretty active :)

Hi Everyone! I'm new to this forum, but I wanted to get involved with some of the teams to help motivate me and keep me accountable. :) My goals are to really focus on my numbers. The number of calories in and the number of calories I burn off. So my biggest areas are daily calories and fitness. I just ran a 5K (my first) and really enjoyed the challenge of it! So I'm doing the SparkPeople virtual 5K in April. I've been increasing my fitness levels and the warm weather has helped me get out more and enjoy the sunshine! My goal for March is to workout 5 days per week and lose 5 pounds. I'm one pound away from my weight goal and have been keeping up on my workouts so far! Let's DO THIS!!

Hi! My name is Ihsan. I am not new to spark people but new to this group as of today. I am 31, and I have 2 kids. My youngest is 2 and half and the oldest is 7. I let my self be the fat person I am now, and I have been carrying around about 46 extra pounds around, and am so tired of it.
I want to lose those pounds but I feel I am not ready to get rid of the extra pounds. I joined this group hoping to find a solution to this problem and hopefully get back to my normal self.

Hi! I'm an undergrad public health major wanting to eventually go into community/national mental health. And I love Irish dance!

Right now I'm trying to lose weight and get in better shape because:

1. It'll help me be a better dancer
2. I need to be a good example of living healthily (especially with my major)
3. A few other reasons... (long-distance relationship being one. It sounds a little silly, but it's definitely motivating!)

I'm hoping being a member of an active group will help me work more consistently - especially with nutritious eating :) I can't wait to meet all of you!

I am not new to Spark People, but I am new to actively using it and taking advantage of it's wonderful tools for a healthy life style. I am currently almost at my heaviest weight, 184 and need to get my life/butt in gear. Two years ago after I hit my peak of 187 pounds I decided to stop making excuses with food and lost 35 lbs, almost reaching my goal weight of 140. So after a rough year in New York City I have decided that I can not eat my way through my time here and I cannot let the city get the best of me. The past two weeks I have been reaching my goals and feel really good, and want to share my goals and achievements with others via spark people. I think I have officially become addicted to it, I sign on probably 4 times a day!

Hi all!

I've been on Spark a year (anniversary was 12/28/09), and have done pretty well. Lost 25 lbs, but still have about 15 more to go. I consistently posted to my teams daily, but never really found one that I felt met my enthusiasm for exercise and would offer fitness challenge 'buddies'. I stumbled upon this team, and think it may be more interactive for me with the smaller size.

I'm ready to continue sparking in 2010 and look forward to getting to know everyone!

I posted this twice because I think I posted it in the wrong place the first time.

Hello everyone! I'm excited about joining a team. Hopefully it will keep my motivation as high as it is now. I plan on getting ideas on how to tweak my diet to make it fit me. I love to exercise so that won't be a problem but it will be fun learning different ways of working out.

I am 34 years old (as of tomorrow 11/24) and I have 4 kids. 1 girl 16yo and 3 boys 11, 6 and 8 months. I'm very busy with them. I lost all my pregnancy weight just to gain it back a month later. I'm ready to stop this rollercoaster. I'm not working right now (because of the economy) so I have plenty of time to workout and concentrate on my diet. Right now I am focusing on getting the calorie intake down and then I will take items out to exchange them for something healthier.

I am focus so let's do this!!

Don't get discouraged...2 weeks is a short time period and your body is probably getting used to the change...you will lose some weight soon..just stay consistent and look into other factors besides the scale to measure your progress...you are probably doing much better than you think!!!emoticon

Hello! I restarted this journey in April; I weighed 148, By October 4th I got down to 128.4, but between my b-day and gaining a pound and then losing electricity early this week and eating out I am back up to 131. I plan on being solidly in the 120's by the end of the month and then working down from there. I am working towards 115, I was there once after losing my freshmen 35! But I gained all the weight back after having a moderate stroke that impacted two parts of my brain at the age of 24! I just want so much to be confident in myself and wear a bikini by the new year! I am ready to overcome from the past and succeed into the future! I wish you all the best in your weight loss journeys!

I know what you mean... that's exactly why I made this group. I was tired of "knowing" what to do and not doing it. I would get the exercise part right and then eat fast food every day. Hi! I'm LinnLat! Please call me NeeC. I want to lose weight because I am tired of hiding behind it. It seems as if I ate my way through some tough times personally but no more. I made up my mind to take my life back and start living a healthier, more energetic, and more fulfilling life. I have committed to at least 180 minutes per week of cardio and 2 days of strength training. I walk, jog, jump rope, hula hoop, do aerobics, lift weights, use the elliptical trainer and use weight machines at the gym. I'm all about mixing it up. I have recently started doing 5Ks, so I'm steadily training for that. I hope to get to know this team and stay motivated while motivating others.

Hello,

My name is Latasha.

I am trying to lose weight because I have been overweight pretty much all of my pre-teens thru adult life. Being overweight coupled with low self-esteem has caused many issue in my life. I want to be free from them and learn to love me. My planned strategy is to work on things, like taking time to work-out or get exercise in daily. Also, I am learning more about foods - ie. what to eat and portion sizes. Lastly, I am learning to work on the things in my life I can and give the rest to GOD!

I try to visit the library and pick up books to educate myself on nutrition. One day I want ot get the courage to go back to school and pursue a career in Health. I am thinking like a community educator to help those struggling with weight and related health issues from being over weight.

Because, I cannot afford a personal trainer right now I use a book called The New Rules of Lifting for Women. I right down the workouts and take it to my local YMCA.

Okay, sorry for the long intro.

I am looking forward to working with this team.

Thanks for the welcome! I'll probably end up one of the quiet ones - I do exercise in the water 3-4 times a week to burn at least 4000 calories. I also use an exercise ball - the goal of all the exercises is to strengthen my core, hold my joints together, maintain a range of motion, and alleviate the pain and inflammation in arthritic joints. One day I might take an extra day off but I doubt it will be willingly or anytime soon - there is a fine line between doing enough and doing too much - I'm Queen of the over do (which is how I got me this way) so I need to pay attention to not over doing as well as not under doing - less pain is a good thing and that is all the motivation I need right now to stick to a plan until I need to change it. I wish you all a total commitment to your goals because with that you are successful.

Hey there!

I'm going to be a junior in college likely studying graphic design (I need to decide quickly! This is basically the last quarter I have to decide, and I'm lagging as it is :)). I joined Sparkpeople in February (I think?) and lost about 10 lbs, took a few months off, and have been back since early August. My goal weight is around 125 lbs.

I'm exercising a lot (lots of running, gym cardio, biking - I am for weights a few times a week but this is my weak area) and eating clean/tracking calories. I'm ready to get where I need to be - I'm not so far off!

Hi! I am Erin. I began losing weight in May 2008 and lost 50 lbs and want to lose 20 more. However, I just moved to Brazil in June and between not having a gym and trying new foods all the time, I've gained 10 back. I need a lot of support and am a very active group member! I just joined a gym and will start this week, but need a lot of help on the eating end... I LOVE to eat :) Looking forward to getting to know everyone.

Hi Everyone, my name is Marilyn. I'm 42yrs old, married with 1 child - my black lab :-)

I need to lose around 60lbs - I don't mind the exercise as much as I mind eating healthy, this is what I need to work on.

What works for me is being part of a group - being held accountable, working on my weight loss journey everyday and planning - which I haven't been too good at lately.

My journey has been interesting- :) I started as a south beacher... and yo yoed every month- loose a lot during that first phase, feel great and then as soon as I added any carb (like apple) boom I would gain and get depressed and eat like a pig again. I almost gave up- then my husband bought me a bodybugg- and I have consistanly lost when I really ate right- Its cool cuz it tells me what I burn and then I log into their site and they tell me what my deficit is. As long as I am honest about what I eat- and I keep a deficit of 500 or more... I loose weight. The last month I started eating bad due to birhtday cake, and thats why I came here- I really want to push myself, and hit my goal by August 30th- my 6th year anniversary! I just need to remember why I am doing this- and maybe hang some motivtaional pics around...

I started jogging- and I so see a difference- already! I also strenght train on days that I run... and on my off days I usually do Turbo Jam - I workout alot! I eat a lot of healthy wole foods to keep my deficit between 1000 and 500- I dont want to loose more then 2 lbs a week- because I want to keep this weight off.

I really have a food issue... I cheat and it turns into a two day binge. I am not fat- but I have the makings to be obsese. I need to blog about that sometime, because I scare myself sometimes with my addiction to food.

Sorry about the novel- I am here to push myself even further. Last 2 days I have eaten pretty bad, and today I am going out with family, but I am still stickin to my eating plan- otherwise I am going to see some weight gain, I feel it! So today I am eating healthy- and having that deficit for sure! (I am packing my own healthy meal :) even if I get weird looks- !!)

My name is Joni and I am a recovering drug addict- I have been sober now for well over a year, and using fitness and health as a tool to stay clean and sober. I have tried to be sober before- and I think that "letting myself go" if you will, has caused me to slip back into destructive behaviors. I don't want to be a drug addict, and hurt my husband and my family. I also feel like I have done a lot of damage to my body- and working out I feel like I am doing good for my body- I have never felt so good actually!

I bought a body bugg- and I use it everyday (a device that tells me what I burn- and I logg what I eat on their site- I set a goal to loose between 1-2lbs a week-) I have lost weight very consistently wearing this device.

I weigh 137 right now, and my goal is to be 124 by August 30th. I know I will hit my goal. I am joining this group because I want to just push myself, and I like active members that want to loose together. I hope that's what I have found here!!

Hello everyone...I've been on SP for a while now but I took a break from the site...and exercising...and eating right....lol

My goal is to loose 30 lbs but for the month of May, I want to lose 6 lbs..that'll give me a total loss of 15 lbs..so I'd be halfway there!!!

I am currently working out 5 times a week..I have a class at the gym 3 times a week that is focused on cardio...I will be adding weights next week...this week is TOM and it's all I can do to do cardioemoticon

I look forward to seeing all of us meet and exceed our goals!!!!!!!!

Well... I am Tamm. I recently finished dental school and I'm excited to work towards my goal weight of 140 to be within my normal BMI. I started my weight removal journey in August at 242 lbs. Now I am 207.5, It has been a long journey but I am sooooo proud of my results. I initially wanted to remove 102 lbs within a year of being out of dental school. That is still similar to my goal but I have removed 35 lbs and my goal for april is to remove 12 lbs. I want to lose 60 lbs in 5 months. I realize this is a lofty goal but I believe I can reach it. Thats 3 lbs a week. If I struggle in April then I will get a personal trainer by May. I'm serious about doing my best this year in 2009.
