wow such great advice to relax & destress! thank u!
Hi, I'm from Chennai India. I am visiting US now. I was drawn towards this column and am interested to share my experience thoughts views..... I am doing Breathing Exercises (To start with slowly deeply and some brisk breathing..). Slow deep breathing in keeping your mind on your breath (without hiss or noise) and exhaling longer to rest without any retention for a while and restart inhale and longer exhale helps quietening the mind. Do some mild body flexing twisting exercises like yoga, walking, etc. Have a systematic routine from getting up a bit early, prayers, exercise, chant, etc. Feel everything happens for good. Do not worry about anything even on those you may think to have control. Relax...One thing at a time and that done...enough. Tale a Psalm or a hymn or a verse from your favorite quotes or even from any books like Bible, Vedas, Upanishads ...which speak of universal good and truth. Listen to soft good chant or music.. Could be from anything like nursery rhymes to religious soft speeches.... Take to charity work...there's nothing greater than giving away yours, that is sacrifice...it fills your heart and the other side too. Share your thoughts with others or go facing a mountain, sea, lake, tree and speak out and quieten your mind. Reduce your wants and expectations. Keep yourself relaxed all the time and keep a smiling face always. Be positive and practical in your outlook....May the Almighty bring peace happiness prosperity health etc to one and all.
