I got that mom thing too. On b/p meds, but no cholesterol meds so far. Just hang in there, my sister and I been working on this for almost 4 years now. But sparks keeps us going. Good luck.

I am on both Cholesterol and blood pressure medicine. The conditions are heriditary from my Mom and I know this because I do exercise and eat well. in 2000, I mentioned to the doctor that I was feeling run down and lethargic. He had a blood panel done and right away perscribed Lipitor and I started feeling much better. In about 2 years, he switched me to Tricor as the Lipitor was not controlling my triglycerides at all and the measurement was off the meter. It took a year or so until that too was under control. in late 2008, I was having horrible headaches and a friend mentioned that he had them also and he got on blood pressure medicine and they went away. So into the doctor I went and they took my BP and asked me if I was having headaches and I said yes. I have been on Benicar and a hydrochlorothiazide caplet ever since. I take them every day and I feel great. At one point though he did give me a pill that combined the blood pressure and hydrochlorothiazide into one pill, but I soon gave it up as I felt dizzy a lot. I got back to two pills and rarely dizzy. I need to lose about 25 pounds to get down to 200, which i real close to my BMI of 189. I am back on Sparkpeople for myself as well as supporting my wife who needs to lose a lot of weight.
