Welcome to the team. I'm also pretty new here. I've had high B.P. for years but just in August I had my first bad reading of Bad Cholesterol. I'm supposed to "watch" my diet and then have my blood work repeated in six months which would be in about Feb. I have lost some weight but I can't say that I'm eating right yet. Anyway................ welcome to the team.

My BP levels were always 110/70 until about 5 years ago when my cholesterol levels also went out of whack. I had a hard time understanding the cholesterol as I am not much of a cheese eater. Then I discovered high cholesterol is not only hereditary, but also associated with obesity/high weight gain. Currently I am approximately 80-100 pounds overweight and am taking crestor and atenolol for the cholesterol and bp. In addition, I take nexium for gerd/acid reflux/barrett's espohagus and paxil for depression. My goal is to eliminate these medications, lose weight, and enjoy a happier healthier life style. Thanks in advance for your support and suggestions
