I have been amazed by how much tracking my food has helped me. I always thought I was doing a good job with my nutrition, until I actually started tracking! Good luck!

Thanks for welcoming me to the team Daisy. Besides blood pressure meds I'm on them for asthma, thyroid problems, osteoporosis, osteoarthritis etc. I sure don't want to have to add something for cholesterol! I am not good with watching what I eat though so I really need to do some reevaluating of my food habits. And I don't like to track food. I'll probably need to change that.

Welcome to the Team! My bad cholesterol was high when I joined Spark People, but by watching my nutrition (particularly cholesterol) and exercise, I was able to bring it down and not have to start medication. Unfortunately, even though I try to watch my sodium intake carefully I still take 3 BP tabs a day. Coincidentally, the 2 you take plus Amlodipine. Looking forward to getting to know you better!

I'm new to the team, and new to High Bad Cholesterol. I've had High Blood pressure for years, being treated with Hydroclorthizide (25 mg/day) and Lisinopryl (20 mg/day). Last month was the first time that I had high BAD Cholestrol with an overall count of 193. My Dr.'s nurse said to "watch" my diet and then have the Cholesterol studies repeated in six months.

I am Carolyn, single, 62 years old and a nurse. I am from the States but I have lived and worked in Africa since 1977. I teach in a Nursing School and I also do Hospital bookkeeping.

I would really like to avoid having to take medicine for Cholesterol since I'm already on lots of medicines for various other problems. Now I really need to make changes in my lifestyle and quit avoiding those changes.

I'll participate in the team as I can but I'm also quite busy with work and on other teams.
