I realize I've repeated this pattern any time I work towards getting healthy. I remain very disciplined during the week and let myself "take the weekend off". It's time to stop using a routine that obviously isn't working. I've decided to try my own challenge this weekend:
-I will post my weight on Friday morning
-I will do 30 minutes on my bike at least one day, Saturday or Sunday
-I will track everything I eat, even the bad stuff if I slip
-I will post my weight on Monday morning
If I can maintain or even lose over the weekend it will be a tremendous accomplishment for me

LR26104 - Are you certain that you cannot give your Weekends the same kind
of structure that you impose on your weekdays ? I would try to model the weekend
meals after what you do during the week. Can you not also include some healthy
snacks ?

My name is Lori and weekends are the worst for me. I can manage to stay on track during the week...pack my lunch for work, planned dinner menus for the week, no snacking, doing at least 30 minutes on my bike, etc. By Friday evening, all bets are off for me. I can usually manage to undo any weight loss during the week because I can't seem to get myself under control on weekends. I'm hoping to learn from all of you what works for you and maybe can work for me.

I just joined this group. I decided to do it because on the weekends it is my only time I have to just relax, and I tend to not even think about what I'm putting into my body. I want to change that and get on track

I've been given this one world, I won't worry it away.

hello everyone!

I just joined the team. Weekends are tough for me because I don't have a set schedule- food or exercise. This is one challenge that I'm really hoping to overcome!

Just wanted to say Hello! The weekends are the worse for me because I don't have to worry about family activities and things like school and work. It's wonderful to have this free time but it also means a lack of control over eating and exercising. How nice to find a group that I can visit on the weekends to keep me motivated!!

Hi, my name is Jenni. I'm looking for some motivation and support with the weekends. I lost 65 lbs last year with SP, but over the winter I lost my exercise buddy and am struggling to get back on it. I've gained 15 of those 65 back :( I'm restarting and finding that I do well all week, but gain it all back when the hubby and kids are home for the weekend. I need HELP!

Hello out there! I'm new to the team, but not new to eating my weight in junk on the weekends while sitting on my butt! My workout buddy moved across the country and I've failed "publicly" too many times in the past with friends and family to face posting about my current attempts on Facebook without being embarrassed, so I'm trying teams now. Good luck everyone with your journey!

Hello- I joined this team to get some new ideas for those challenging weekends. I have done fairly well since signing up with SparkPeople in January, but the summer cookouts are looming ahead! I always plan ahead for "party nights"...put in all food first and see what is left over for drinks and treats. I can get in a couple glasses of wine, or a small dessert and still meet all daily requirements. I have a feeling that I will have to put in extra miles and cardio to get through the summer...thank goodness I am a fanatic at gardening...that will help.

Hello! My name is Katie and I have been utilizing SP since January 2012. I love SP and truly have adapted to a new and improved lifestyle except when it comes to my weekends. When I started SP I had been using weight watchers for about a month and had quickly adapted to that one day a week where I didn't count points/calories and just ate/drank whatever. After about two months I found that I can no longer loose the lbs if I don't stick to this lifestyle change 24/7. I have joined this SP team to help get control over my weekends and make sure not to undo all the hard work that I have put in during the week.

I will be checking in Saturday once in the afternoon/evening to blog and make sure this is a positive change. It's already been a great help the first weekend I adapted to my new healthy regime by finally pushing past that plateau minus 4lbs :) Working on getting to my 25lbs lost by June and hoping this weekend change is all I need.

howdy... im not new to spark people. ive been using it off and on for over a year. i commute 1 1/2 hours 1 way to work. so needless to say it is really difficult to exercise during the week (except for a few minutes here and there). the weekends are busy doing all the things we dont have time for during the week. there is a lot of stress at work so i can eat very unhealthy at times since im a stress eater. so i try and make the most of my weekends.

Hi everyone! I joined this challenge because weekends are the worse for me! During the week I do awesome with eating and exercising. I'm still good with exercising on Saturday in the morning, but after that, it's all down hill. The parties and get togethers are always on the weekend, so that's always rough for me too. I just can't seem to control myself and it's getting in the way of my weight loss goals and healthy diet I try to stay on. So we will see! This weekend is going to be rough for me, but I'm going to try my best. I'm hoping since starting this challenge, I will be more careful with what I eat and limit myself.

You gotta do what you gotta do!

Good Day Everyone! I'm not new to spark people, although I've been using it on and off for a few years, I'm hoping to make the investment into the lifestyle change necessary to see lasting change. I'm a high school teacher to Monday thru Friday I'm fine, but I'm also very active in my sorority that requires that I do a lot of running around on the weekends, so I do a lot of eating out and hanging out, so I'm not as good with watching my caloric intake. I'm here to gain accountability and support.

Living a good life means leaving a GREAT legacy!

Hi Everyone!

I have to stay eating healthy & working out come extremely easy to me during the week. I usually give myself a day of rest either on Saturday or Sunday. But when it comes to eating on the weekends.. it is so hard or i eat way late at night which i hate to do. Anyone have any advice?

Hello everyone!
I'm also new, my name is Karryn. I'm good about lunch during the week, not as good with dinner, and my whole eating schedule goes to crap on the weekends. My new health personality includes working out every other day for 30 minutes, and trying to lose 30 pounds by June. I'm here to try and stay track with good habits on the weekends. :)And thank you to everyone else for opening up and supporting!

Hi Everyone!

I am Allison, new to Spark today! I am a single mom and the weekends are horrible for me! We are on the go constantly and fast food seems to be easiest! Would love to hear how you stop the fast food. I don't need it and prefer the girls to eat better!

Hello DarkChild...love the name. I also am new to this site, but had to respond to your post. You have so much enthusiasm! You will conquer you weekends. ...may I suggest making Sunday your "cheat" day. You can enjoy you cheat two ways..one just the taste of it...and two as a celebration of making it though the weekend!

I joined this team to keep my focus on working thru the weekend. I seem to do great all week until the Friday night, fast food and repeat this Sat and Sun. The workouts I put in are hard and the calories burn are in the 600+ range . So why I am I not thinnner....getting real with myself is what it is all about. What I eating particularly on the weekends will lead me to goal .

Hello, I joined this team because the weekends are to me what kryptonite was to Superman! I do really, really, well during the week with both eating and exercising and then Friday comes and everything gets thrown out the window, as far as my eating habits go. Friday is suppose to be my "cheat" day but Friday's cheat day turns into Sat and Sun. cheat days and the scale is either back up on Mon or has not moved. So, I ran across this team and it had my name written all over it. The only thing I'm confused about is how the challenge works, when I'm suppose to post something and where and what? Any help with those questions would be greatly appreciated. emoticon emoticon

Hello, I just joined this challenge today. I have known this site for a while but I never took time to look into it. I started to run 2 years ago and I completed 3 full marathons so far. I am a runner. However, I am trying to lose 30-40lbs. I need to lose weight. I tend to overeat since I run so much I get so hungry. Hopefully this site will help me lose 40lbs. I want to get my personal record!! I normally run more than 10miles on Saturdays..however, weekend is so hard for me not to eat what I want!! I need support!

Hi! I'm a new mom with 30 pounds to lose... I know I need to be a part of this group since I saw the group icon and thought it had bacon in it. Mmmmm...

I am a mother of two beautiful children so the weekends have become a lot easier for me to be more cautious of what I eat. Because im always on the go I eat what little I can when they are asleep and I walk a lot. Although 5,000 steps is not something I have yet to master in a day.
Good luck to any and every one on this team.
