I, too, am new to the site although picking it up quickly as it is similar to another site I was using until my company started blocking it. I am joining this club as I am only able to exercise for 10-20 minutes at a time due to a leg injury I sustained in a motorcycle accident last September... I had lost 64 lbs just before my accident and was within 25 lbs of my goal weight. Unfortunatelyl, my accident caused me to put about 30 lbs back on and now I have to lose 55 -65 lbs to meet my goal. It is frustrating but I guess when you're in a wheelchair you don't burn as many calories... and some of it was that I was depressed and in pain and since I don't do pain meds, eating was sometimes a coping mechanism for the 5 months I was unable to leave my house.
Just like the bike though, I want to get back in the saddle and ride/diet/exercise again... so there's only one way to do that and that it to GET STARTED and stop procrastinating. I MISSED my elliptical with a passion, which I NEVER thought I'd say as before my last effort at losing weight i HATED exercise... but the elliptical is low impact and fun and easy to get used to so I'm back on it now, at about 10 minutes at a clip. I want to do more but I am also trying to be patient so as to no re-injure myself in any way.
I wish you all the best of luck and hope that I can make the team proud by succeeding!
