Welcome. You sound like a Brit. Did I get that right? I, too, caution against a low carb diet. I tried the Atkins diet twice and had some side effects. I got severe headaches. Couldn't stay on it. You'll also read about people getting fecal impactions. Not enough fiber in a low carb diet. Gross, eh? But, you don't feel hunger.
SparkPeople has at least one article on low carb diets. If you stay away from sugar, and white breads, rices, and pastas and eat whole grain products instead, you won't feel as hungry. Stay away from products that contain high fructose corn syrup, too, if you want to curb hunger. Also, eating small meals six times per day helps a lot of people with hunger issues.
