One thing I learned this year is that runners can have weak quads, even marathon runners. There are way too many other muscles available to help with the load of running that the quads sometimes don't have to do very much. Shocked me!
Is the pain that of an overused muscle or something else like a muscle pull?
I would look to add quad strengthening exercises like wall sits and straight leg lifts and just take it a bit easier on the tension the next class you do. It takes time to adjust and you are using muscles you're not used to using like that.
