Welcome! I'm relatively new to this site and I'm from SW Michigan too! I'm 5'1" and trying to lose 40 pounds. I gained 6 over a long week and a half away and I'm happy to say I lost them in a week just buy getting back into eating healthy and exercising! Feel free to friend me!
I've only been here a little over a week myself, but can already tell you that this is a great place for support and information to help you achieve your goal! I'm really happy I decided to sign up and give it a try -- the nutrition and fitness trackers really keep you in touch with how you're doing, there's a lot of information about almost anything you can think of, and the team forums are very supportive. Hello everyone...I am new to sparkpeople. I am 51 and need to lose 50 lbs. This is the most I have every weighed in my life. As I stated on my profile page I was the one everyone envied because I could eat anything and not gain an ounce. That change after I turned 40.
I am petite 5'1.75" have to count every little inch so just a little bit of extra weight is noticable on me. That being said, 50 extra lbs really looks bad. I have dieted before but have always gained it back because when i get to my goal I usually think by some magical way I will keep the weight off and never gain it back again so I revert back to my bad eating habits. Pepsi, chips and dip have been my downfall. Well, that's about it. I am ready to get serious this time and make this a lifestyle change.
