Congratulation on your surgery!! I hope you feel better soon. How is your hydration doing? Drinking plenty of fluids? I found that Powerade Zero helped me alot as it has electrolytes. SF popsicles, etc.. Walk, walk walk-it helps. Rest. Get used to the way your pouch responds. Doing protein drinks? I used the Isopure alpine RTD in the early days-counted as both clear liquid and protein.

well I had some complications with five surgeries in five days. The first three surgeries were on day one. The by pass surgery went fine no problem but the liver biopsy would not clot thus they went back in laparoscopically the second surgery. The third surgery was after I crashed. Blood pressure dropped and was bleeding out. So I got opened up a nice long abdominal incision from sternum to below belly button! They packed me and checked again two days later. Nope still not clotting, so closed up till two more Days then finally, closed up. So after two weeks in first SICU, then ICU I was sent home for 6-8 week recovery instead of the two I planned. I'm doing well and it's been slow but steady recovery. Would I do it again YES! The liver is not diseased but was very fatty. The cure by pass surgery. God is great he carried me clearly at times. I floated on the prayers of the many much of the time in the hospital. It has been a journey that continues. Thank everyone for your support and check ins when I was not able to respond. Still recovering and not back at work yet. Oh by the way I am down 44 lbs!

Yes I did the two week liquid diet and stayed strictly on it. Used it like a fast and relied heavily on scripture spending time with God.

Welcome to the forum and Congratulations on your upcoming surgery!
There is plenty of information here and on other similiar sites on sparkpeople. I have also run across quite a few good books on it as well as the cookbooks to help in variety in the stage diets coming up for you. I personally am on the Puree/soft stage. I recently enjoyed a little soft scrambled egg.
Unjury also has some good recipes to use with their protein powders-unflavored and others.
Just look and you will find many places.
Just follow your Team's instructions and ask them any questions-that is what they are there for.

Best Wishes for a successful surgery. I had the gastric sleeve on Dec 7.
I am scheduled for surgery RNY on Jan 15 and begin the liquid diet to shrink liver today! I am excitedly anticipating and gratefully have a lot of support from my spouse who had Somme surgery in 2008. Surgery: Jan 15, 2013 with Dr Miles, St Vincent's East Birmingham Alabama, Center for excellence. Butterflies yesterday when I cleaned out the junk and foods I can't eat the next two weeks. Praying even now to prepare the surgeon and his team to have kingdom knowledge in the practice of their skill a In completing my surgery!
