Hi everyone. I've belonged to SparksPeople since 2008. I joined when I lived in Illinois and wanted to meet people in my area. For a few years I was very active on the site. I even started my own team. Then with life getting busier I stopped Sparking. Now I mostly post my exercise on the mobile app. I've been back in MA since 2009 and just recently moved to East Bridgewater. Hope everyone is having an awesome day.

Hi, my name is Daryl and I live in New Bedford. I'm trying to re-lose weight plus some. I had lost most of the weight I was trying to lose about 2 years ago and one thing led to another and I ended up putting most of it back on. Look forward to all the fun we can have on this journey.

Hello,
I just restarted using SparkPeople! I had used it a few years ago and lost 30lbs. And then lost my motivation!
I believe in this program and know that it does work.
I believe in healthy, clean eating to feel better, live better, live longer, be stronger, and loss weight!
My weight goal exist, but my ultimate goal is to run a 1/2 marathon, be able to lift more weight, have more energy, have more muscle strength and endurance.
I believe you are what you eat and how you live!

I've been a part of either Babyfit or Sparkpeople since late 2004. This year I decided to start a new SP ID because the other was just a bunch of re-starts it seems. I decided a cleanish slate would be the way to go if I want to really try and get it right this time. I do a great job until about October and then I just let it go and start back up in January again. The only thing I've managed to stay pretty well on track with, is hitting the gym 3x/week.

Goals, aside from sticking with the program, is to get back to about 120 lbs and stay in the range of 120-125. I also want to do my first 5K, so I started doing the C25K training (this week was week 1). The 5K I want to do is in Canton in June.

Other things about me - I participate in NaNoWriMo every November (National Novel Writing Month). I am currently working on a re-write that I hope to get published one day. I have no illusions there. It's highly unlikely to ever happen even if it is fantastic, but all I can do is try.

I live in Norton with my husband and sort of our 3 boys. The oldest will be 25 in April (he's in the autism spectrum and will likely be living with us for quite some time still), the middle son is at school at MCLA in North Adams (used to be North Adams State College, but they changed the names of some of the state school a few years back). He's a music and creative writing major already planning on going for his masters. He'll be 20 in 2 weeks. And then we have a 7 year old who currently is involved with basketball and will do baseball in the spring. He has illusions of doing football in the fall. Not sure I'm ready for that. ;)

Welcome, Kathy!

Consider helping with dinner/shopping as much as possible, to avoid processed foods. Tag along to the grocery store, or give Peapod a try. Also, if you plan meals ahead of time, you can mix in some healthier options AND save money. Sit down with your MIL and work out a schedule... it'll probably be a welcome surprise for her as well!

Or, do what I did when DH and I first moved in together: He was the king of take-out and had a less-than-functional kitchen. I ate waaaaay less for breakfast and lunch, knowing that I'd blow the calorie budget at dinner. It was hard at first, but it definitely worked!

I am not sure how this all works, so I might mess up posting. I never posted to boards before.

My name is Kathy and I live on the south shore. I am hoping to establish friendships with some people locally who can help me stay accountable with my fitness and nutrition goals. I work full-time at a sit-down job, so I am always reminding myself to stand up when I talk to people. One of my coworkers told me about Sparks, so I was excited to join last year, but fell off of maintaining it because it took so much time. I will be trying to find ways to shorten the upkeep of my pages.

I broke my foot in July, so I haven't done much for the last 6 months. I am going to build back up. I want to loose ten pounds, but most importantly, get fit again. I want to regain some healthy eating too. My mother-in-law lives with us and does most of the cooking. This is a blessing. My husband does most of the food shopping, which is also a blessing. They don't shop for healthy foods, though. So, I find eating healthy a big challenge. Nothing is whole-grain. Most foods are canned and processed. One of my goals is to try to introduce my mother-in-law to some recipes that everyone will like, be cheap, and good for all.

Thanks for having this group here. I hope to get to know you all so we can support each other.

Kathy

Hey Guys! I just moved (back) to the area after 7 years of being away! Im currently living in Plymouth and am looking for a group of ladies ( I have a 5 yr old girl and a 2 yr old boy who I work around time wise ) who like to push each other and run/walk.

I am a FIgure Skating Coach and a Director of a Learn To Skate program in CT ( where I moved from ). I like to do Pilates and Yoga as well and have been doing Insanity.

I started off great and lost 8 pounds ( start was 136ish end at 127ish ) Since my husband coming back from overseas, and then of course him getting a job near Boston and us moving Ihave gained it back. I am around 134 and at 5'6 it is in no way "bad" just not where I want/what I know I can be.

My goals are to be healthy above all. As a skater I know what my muscle tone and my active level can and should be. I know I can reach it but I also know that I need someone pushing me towards by goals. I do have the Hubby but lets face it, he doesnt care if I veg out on the couch with Ben and Jerry and then let them hang out forever. haha

Feel free to contact me, again, Im really outgoing and am looking for a strong group to help push me while I help push them!

-Ashely

Hi Everyone!!!

I'm Cynthia and I live in Quincy.I've been off and on SPARK for a few years and now I'm back. I couldn't be on FB and SPARK, so FB won at the time. I"m not looking at making some goals and kicking some butt.

Hi Everyone!

I'm Venise, and I live in Plainville. I'm just about to turn 40 (eek!), and I live with my husband, 8&6 year old daughters, 4 year old son, a cockatiel bird & 3 goldfish.

I just completed my half marathon goal for this year & think my next goal will be a full marathon. I love to run w/friends! So if you'd like to join me let me know :)

I need to do more strength/cross training somehow and hopefully w/monitoring my nutrition I hope to lose a few lbs.

Hi Everyone!

Just a quick check-in to see who's still active and where we all are.

I'm Susi, and I live in Attleboro. I'm just about to turn 35 (eek, officially my mid-thirties!), and I live with my husband, 3-year old daughter, and yellow lab. :)

I love to run -- I'm not great at it, so the challenge is motivating -- and I've been incorporating more pilates and yoga into my routine lately, with great results.
