Hi ladies!
My weight goes up or down by 10 lbs every month, I'm not even exaggerating (much), it's unreal. So, hopefully this will work for me. Although I know myself well enough that I will probably ignore this site for months on ends before logging back in again. I'll leave my computer in plain site (usually just use my smartphone) and hope for the best.

I also like to use Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred, pilates, circuit training, and yoga-- all of which I will be incorporating into my workout.

What's your biggest challenge with diet & exercise?: Making it a habit. I'm an on-again,off-again person. I'm usually pumped for the first two weeks, but for one reason or another, always end up stopping after that. My first goal is to do this consistently for a month because I've been told that it takes appx. 30 days for something to become a habit. I think after that point, it should be easier to stick to. Luckily for me, right now I'm unemployed, so I have the luxury of making this my main focus... in addition to looking for work. :p

My favorite exercise activity is the elliptical machine
My favorite healthy foods are anything with Quinoa in it and also greek yogurt with a little honey in it. Yum!
My hobbies are telling stories to all my nieces and nephews, reading, redecorating, cooking, and knitting/crocheting
My workout routine is elliptical 30-40 min 3 days a week and 30 min of strength training afterwards
My biggest challenge with diet is events like holidays and charities (girl scout cookies and valentine's day as of recent) I also stress eat and eat horrible things when I don't have time to plan a healthy meal. As for exercise, my biggest challenge is overworking myself and then losing my motivation or just plain laziness.

Hi Cutensassy! What a great post. I've just started my weight loss - and my current goal is set to put me just barely into the 'normal' BMI also. Once I reach that, I hope I can move down further still, but have tried to set my sights on something more reasonable for the moment being. It's so great to see that you are reaching your target. Hello all,

I am a 38 year old mother of 2 wonderful children and my plan has always been to be able to keep up with them. I have lost over 45 lbs so far and I feel GREAT! My energy level is through the roof and although I am less than 5 lbs away from my year end target (normal BMI), my sights are set on the next target, getting to the 'middle' of my normal BMI range which would mean another 15 lbs past my year end target (i.e. 135 lbs).
My weakness is finding time (or more like fighting the excuses) for not exercising. I recently joined a gym (women only) and I have found a great support system which is why I was very happy to find this team!

Hi All,

I just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I am 28 and live outside of the US. I move around a lot but spend most of my time in sub-Saharan Africa. All my travel makes it hard to stick to a diet and even harder to get to a gym! But, for the next couple of months I'm in Europe, so hoping to get a head start before the new year and travel resumes.

I have no children or pets. I work in international development and humanitarian relief. My favorite exercise used to be running - but that was MANY years ago. I'd love to get back into it since it is such a great solo activity that you can do anywhere. I actually tend to eat quite well and love healthy foods, especially any kind of seafood, or greens -especially broccoli, asparagus, spinach, etc. Green foods are surprisingly hard to find in hot climates where I spend most of my time. I just need to work on portion control, and my weak spot is chocolate and red wine. Yum!

In terms of hobbies, I don't tend to have a lot of free time, but when I do, I like to travel, read books and cook. My workout routine right now is focused on jogging and walking, and some strength training. As mentioned above, my biggest challenges are portions, chocolate, red wine, and cold weather. I hate going out in the cold when I can stay in where it's nice and cozy. ;)

Hi everyone! I'm new and I look forward to getting to know you!! :)

I'd rather not give out too much personal info online so I took out some of the questions.

Favorite Exercise Activity: Running! I also enjoy weight lifting although I'm just getting into that!

Favorite Healthy Foods: Veggies--pretty much any of them! And also fruits!

Hobbies: Working out, crafts like knitting, dogs, music, reading, playing with words, hiking, camping, kayaking, anything outdoors!, learning new things, writing, and tons of other stuff!

What does your workout routine consist of?: Currently recovering from an injury to my leg so I'm starting back slow... looking at a combo of walking (soon I hope!!!), some ballet type exercises/pilates, and weight lifting and probably will add in some kickboxing with a focus on upper body in order to get some extra cardio in without aggravating my injury. Hoping that gets healed up very soon!

What's your biggest challenge with diet & exercise?: With exercise, currently my injury! I'm dying to work out, but have not been able to. :( I love running and hate that I've had to give that up for awhile.
With diet, I love sweets! I also have difficulty making myself eat breakfast, and have a tendency to overeat at meals and with snacking in between meals! My diet isn't TOO bad, but it can be hard to eat healthy due to living with other people and not always having much choice.

What's your biggest challenge with diet & excercise?: Social outings always revolve around going out for food and drinks! I also tend to use the all-or-nothing approach so when I resolve to create a healthy lifestyle I start everything at once going at 100% and, not surprisingly, can't maintain that. I'm learning to start a little bit at a time - make a habit out of it, maintain it and add on. I'm also very impatient and will get frustrated when I don't see results quickly; I have a short attention span!

What's your biggest challenge with diet & excercise?: I am a former anorexic and struggle with overexercising and emotional eating (and not eating), so my goal is to maintain balance. That means steady nutritious eating and moderate exercise. No extremes!

What's your biggest challenge with diet & excercise?: My eating- I never really learned how to cook, so I am always either buying my lunch/dinner or eating easy to make meals. I have good intentions of making healthy meals for myself but when I get around to it, I'm always too lazy. Exercise-wise, I've just been bad at doing it period. I get tired at my job and always use that as an excuse not to go exercise. :/

Favorite Exercise Activity: Right now I'm enjoying the elliptical a lot. I coach volleyball twice a week, and that is a lot of fun as well.

Favorite Healthy Foods: I love strawberry yogurt and carrots.

Hobbies: I love reading and writing. I'm learning to enjoy cooking, although I'm pretty terrible at it.

What does your workout routine consist of?: I do 30 minutes on the elliptical, 15 minutes on the treadmill, and 15 minutes on the stationary bike. I try to do this 6 days a week. I also do a lot of stretching before and after the work out. I usually do strength training/weight lifting two to three times per week.

What's your biggest challenge with diet & exercise?: The late night munchies. At night, I crave salty snacks. I avoid this temptation a lot by not having unhealthy salty snacks available to me in my home, but it is still a challenge.
