I get the expeller pressed coconut oil from tropical traditions website. I don't taste the coconut. If you get the virgin ones you do get that coconut taste.



I've carried extra lbs most of my life!
Started 9/27/13 determined to release myself from my 'FAT' cocoon ~ the colorful butterfly is emerging & flying!

As far as nuts you may want to try pecans and macadamia nuts, maybe pistachios. Nuts are not essential on paleo if you eat a lot of meat, eggs and fish. Some people do well with raw dairy, some skip the dairy all together. If possible read one or two books about paleo and if you want to lose weight keep the carbs as low as possible by staying away from root vegetables as well.

I'm jumping in! Both feet. Shopping list in hand, menus ready to go. I've been lifting and doing cardio and the weight isn't shifting, my trainer thinks Paleo (which he refers to as "FOOD!") Might jump start my metabolism. I do have a couple of questions for you all if you could help.

I am allergic to almonds, walnuts, hazelnuts (not deathly, but will feel nausea and also like someone sewed a wool sweater inside my mouth within seconds of ingesting any of those nuts) . No problem with peanuts, cashews. AND I despise the taste of coconut.

Anyone out there have any recipes for protein/snack bars that have no (bad) nuts or flours/milks from those nuts or coconut I would appreciate the help!!
