Welcome, it sounds like you are off to a great start!
Although I'm not strict paleo, I've found that it works best when I match my carbs to the amount of exercise I'm doing - that is, more sweet potatoes and fruits are fine when I'm doing plenty of running and lifting, but need to cut back on those if I'm not able to follow my full exercise program.

Hi Sheila! Welcome to paleo. I'm 58 and need to lose 100 lbs (gained when I quit smoking). After 3 months of paleo, my cholesterol is the lowest it's ever been - 142. My doctor just told me I could cut my pills in half. I had labs run this week, and my doctor tells me everything is normal! I'm a happy camper. Also, I've lost 28 lbs since I started.

My name is Sheila, I live in the Midwest. I am 60 years old and retired. I need to loose about 30 pounds. I have been diligently and consistently trying to achieve a healthy weight for two years. Two weeks ago a took a diagnostic test that confirmed my metabolism is slow. I recently learned about the Paleo way of eating. I am interested in the health benefits promised by the Paleo eating plan.I have been eating low carb and low glycemic for the past several months. I feel I am eating about 80% Paleo already. I need to eliminate or limit beans, which I enjoy, dairy, grits and oatmeal. These are the only non-Paleo foods I regularly eat; and I eat these foods about once per week.
