Hi I am Candice Schaefer. I have PCOS and am attempting to see how a Paleo lifestyle helps with losing weight. Because people with PCOS usually have trouble with glucose, similar to a type 2 diabetic, it is a good idea for them to eat less carbohydrates than the average person. My doctor had reccomended the South Beach Diet, which I had tried before, but did not really trust. I lost weight really fast with South Beach, but once carbs were introduced back into the picture the weight loss came to a halt and I'm not entirely convinced that it is a healthy way to live life. I have researched Paleo and have decided that it is basically all the foods that I love to eat and want to eat more of, minus grains (which I need to avoid anyway). So, all that being said, I am excited about this new lifestyle journey!
